My opinion thus far is that it seems to be a good tool if you don't
overdo the effect. I went to try it out myself but the local shop that
I prefer doesn't have it and wants an extra 25 bux to order it for me
than I can get it for online.

It was on my list for my studio, which is me working by myself. So I
could use some harmonies at times for nothing more than demo quality
stuff that I enjoy making.
I ended up with and can highly recommend TCElectronics Voice Works Pro
for the studio, where you aren't trying to cop some harmonies with
your guitar or keys. It does outstanding harmonies, offers complete
control over every aspect of them, has some cool and useable effects,
and the preamp is really all a one singer studio would ever need.
That's all I got.

For me, the RTPC would be a deal-maker... at least, for
*our* singer!

Thats some good info man. I think the TCH has better sound quality but
doesn't have the ability to switch keys automatically though right?
I will probably get the live 4 because of the pitch correction thingy but
I'm going to try my ass off to at least demo it somewhere first. I just hate
packing stuff up to ship back. I figure just because I demo it at a GC or
something doesn't mean I have to buy it there. :-)
I've got a Vocalist Live Pro (the rack mount version of the 4). Solo
instrumentalist: Take note...this is the shit. The preamp is really
rather transparent and the Lexicon verbs/delay patches are quite nice
indeed. However, the "wow" factor only last a song or so, so you need
to be judicious (it doesn't suit every song...but then, neither do
harmonies)..plan your show. Some of the main vocal effect
"characters" are fun to play with....the old blues cat is crazyyyyy.
This unit with a Boss RC50 is insane!
Oh yeah, If you do go for the rack mount version, get the foot switch
as well...I set the harmonies to momentary, verb on switch 2 and the
tuner on switch 3...tuning to the rig is not optional ;-)

Excellent info. I'm probably going to go with the floor unit. There's
probably a half dozen songs I do right now that would work for it so
hopefully I wont get too carried away.
Thanks for the info and tips!
I know people who have the Digitech and the TC Helicon. They say TCH,
and I think they make better stuff anyway. Hope to get the Harmony G
sometime around the end of the year.
It's attractive to me too cos I can be a little pitchy at times.
Especially when my allergies are acting up.
