click on 'effects' then scroll down to 'JMI LTD Edition Rangemaster'
and
you might take a look at www.treblebooster.net - highly respected and
many flavors to choose from. Customer support is excellent. When you e-
mail with questions or recommendations you get a prompt reply from
Bernd C. Meiser, the builder, himself. Very friendly and helpful
gentleman. Highly recommended.
A worthwhile read at http://www.treblebooster.net/pdf/review6.pdf -
comparing several Rangemaster type pedals.

Most of the good ones do the same thing as the original. The circuit is
pretty simple, the separation between good and bad mainly being
selection of a "good" Ge transistor.
I've got the Keeley Java and I'm really pleased with it.
The OC44 transistor I believe.
Yes, but with Ge transistors there's a lot of variability in properties
even though they're nominally the same. Some "good" ones, some "bad"
ones. The better pedal makers screen for the best ones to use.
Some other treble boost pedals with good reputations although I haven't
used either of them:
-- Analog Man Beano Boost
-- Crispy Cream (no longer being made as I recall)
So you have a homemade Rangemaster clone? Thanks for those two
recommendations, I'll check them out.
