This Is It
|
| |
Went to see it last night in a pretty good theatre. I know Michael Jackson (may have, reportedly, etc. etc.) did bad things. What a shame they didn't get to put on that show, as it looked to be something really special. Jackson: Dancing and singing, IMHO, better than ever. Yeah, the movie runs a little "long" but I don't know what I'd want to leave out.... more »

Coming home from a gig...

|
| |
Driving along. late at night, I thought just how much of a high one is on..not like a succesful day at work, this is more than that, it is that inner feeling that only the stage can give you, the adrenalin that drives you, the feel that all is well in the world, 'know what I mean? Goodnight.

Locked in with the drummer...
|
| |
First of all: Dennis Chambers is the shit! This man is a drumming God! Now, to the point. In this clip, I am impressed on how casual the drummer and bassist (please identify him) keep in contact throughout this piece . Please speak of how the drummer can effect your performance and how you feed off of him.... more »

My original plan was to get the GR-33, because I like the tracking, the sounds and alpha-numeric display. However, I learned that it wasn't... more »

Ear training books
|
| |
There seems to be a plethora of books and on line resources to explain the theory of music, and, at some stage, some mention, albeit in small doses, the need to develop the ear. But do you think they go far enugh? I am talking not just about identifying a perfect fourth or a fifth interval but the whole approach to "keeping one's ears open"... more »

Working with a booking agent
|
| |
My band has found a booking agent who's got contacts outside of the area where it's convenient for us to knock on doors for gigs, but where we'd be OK with traveling for work if the situation warrants it. We've come up with three requirements for the arrangement with the agent: - We must review all contracts before signing, if the agent is the party... more »
