....that made you REALLY happy you'd bought it? My singer & drummer bought
theirs together. The label says 12" Floor Monitor-Hecho in China. They sound
like crap. I need to get one for my end of the stage. It cannot sound like
crap. Anything amazing youse guys would recommend I check out? First thought
is always JBL, but there must be others.

EV, Samson, Yamaha, and even Peavy has some decent sounding floor monitors.

Really! It also says "8 ohms - Made in China". No brand name. :-) Based on
how they sound, I don't think anyone would want to put their name on them.

Depends on your budget. I don't do the PA thing much myself any more
so when I needed a wedge for occasional use, I bought one of these:

and I am really happy with it. I'm not pro- or anti-Behringer, so I
judged it on it's merits and it does what *I* want fine.

Heaps of clean volume, fairly compact. It's self-powered so you need a
line level monitor send, and you can adjust your own volume. If needs
be, it's got enough gain so you can even plug a mic directly into it
(really small gigs, rehearsals, etc.).

when we use our large PA, I use the Leaders Alto Powered Monitor.1-15
and a horn. I run it out of the Control Room Channel, so I can jack my
OWN monitor level if needed. It does not affect the other Monitor
volumes , and it sounds great!!!

The Yamaha 12" and 15" were not bad when I last saw them. Hopefully,
they've not been cost reduced into garbage.

My Yamaha SM15Vs are good for them money. They take a beating. I
actually use one as a small bass rig for "unplugged" gigs.

We use the trusty old Fender 1272's. this isn't my pic but they look
about as beat.

They do a pretty good job especially seeing I bought a pair used for
$50.00 a piece.

I picked up 3 JBL's for the band, 2 for up front, 1 for the drummer,
everyone loves them. They double as main speakers in small gigs also.
