I don't know what a Heyboer output transformer will sound like in that
amp but I recently put Heyboer T020 transformer in my Super Champ and
it totally changed the sound for the better and much more headroom.

Check it out...Just ordered me a custom 2013 Ampeg Heritage SVT-CL and
Heritage SVT 810e to go with it! They're just finishing up the cabs,
so it'll be a couple weeks before I get it, but here's a gutshot. A
post about it on Ampeg's Facebook page blew up yesterday with over
1000 likes and over a hundred shares! Had I known how hard
endorsements rock, I would have made more of an effort to go after
them!

It's got a Heyboer output transformer that was modeled off the
original Blue Line SVT transformers instead of the stock transformer,
and it's the very first SVT in a long time to have the low profile
power tube retainers instead of those big metal pains in the ass that
go over the tubes. Subsequent Heritage SVT's will have the low
profile retainers, but they came in just as Hodgy the Heritage amp
builder was finishing up the latest run, and I got mine sneaked in at
the last minute so it's currently the only one to have them in the
world and will be until Hodgy builds the next batch in a few months.

So what does the Heyboer output transformer do? I guess I'll find

content and lows when you start pushing it. Personally, I think the
Chinese transformers they use now are fine and make them sound like
proper SVT's should, but this transformer gets a lot of raves and the
price wasn't prohibitively expensive, so I decided to give it a shot.

Really excited about getting it. It's a rig I won't be able to use on
all my gigs, but it's going to get used often. Didn't buy it to look
pretty in my house. And yes, I know it's heavy, but it's a non-issue
to me since I have plenty of lightweight Ampeg amps when I need them,
so to all douche-nozzles, kindly keep your lunatic ramblings about it
being heavy to yourselves. And yes, I meant you, English nutcase
whose name escapes me.

Well I'm cool with you no matter what amps you play ;) But honestly,
I think this is the best Ampeg stuff to come out in a couple decades.
Kind of soured on Ampeg when SLM owned them. The heads were always
great, but almost all the cabs were made with OSB and the cabs from
2000-2006 had crappy sounding speakers. Plus they kept making stuff
to appeal to non-Ampeg lovers, which pissed me off to no end ;)

But they were quite innovative and did come up with a handful of
classic products, so I can't say too much bad about them. But IMHO,
overall, this is the best they've been since the old days. And I
don't say that because I have a deal with them...I'll name off a
couple current Ampeg products I really hate to prove it, too ;)

It really tainted my opinion. Saw lots of stuff in for repair. Lots of blown
810 speakers. The replacements looked like they came from radio shack!

I'm hearing nothing but good things about Ampeg now. I even made sure to
stop by Ampeg's booth at the NAMM show and actually try some stuff just to
hear it for myself.
I actually really dug some of the stuff. I was disappointed that I didn't
win the Purple Monster rig..the guy standing in front of me won it!

I enjoy my PF-500/4x10Neo. I'll never be young enough to wrassle an SVT/8x10, nor rich enough to pay someone to wrassle it for me. More power to y'all; I'm glad some of us get to use the top of the line!
