All,

I think Derek will be first cab off the rank in celebrating the new
year in NZ!

Anyway, wishing all of you everything a bass player desires - but most
of all health, prosperity and, importantly, PLENTY OF GIGS for the
year ahead.

Thanks for your help, suggestions, criticism, comments etc.in 2009 -
it's all been good.

Oh, I nearly forgot - my new year resolution? Getting to position 4 on
the DB by June. And posting on AGB, so be warned :-))

Oh, most likely, but that's still 12 hours away...

And my new years resolution will be to recover properly from last years
injury[1] and to not get injured again.

I think I might get back into being open to all musical opportunities
that come my way mode again.

[1] Good news - mobility is back to pretty much normal - bad news
there's still a gap in the bone and talk of grafts or replacing sections
of bone with something artificial.

This is prolly our last nite in the little joint
where we've played 3 nites a week for the
past 7 years. Guess I'll play my NYE axe,
the giant sparkle silver GnL FL5. She's a
dressed-to-party axe if ever was. And the
human ladies will be likewise I'm sure.

While so many bassers will be wailing on
their megawatt 8x10's 2nite, I'll be happily
[but sadly] enjoying my 1/4meg 2x6. I've
become a connoisseur of itty bitty amps
over the past 7 years.

Coolth is that, as usual, we will play the
dinner hours only and the rest of the nite
is ours [not that we got any reservations
at any other places ... ]

I guess Derek has now left us behind in
this previous decade. Have fun and stay
safe while catching up with him !
