The best band EVER...

What do actual guitar and bass relief profiles look like? (Plek)
I ran across this video in alt.guitar, which describes the function and operation of the Plek, which is basically a computer-assisted automated fingerboard setup machine. There are only 15 of these Pleks in operation in the US, many of them by major manufacturers, but one of them is owned by Phil Jacoby (Philtone) in Baltimore, who is the tech... more »

All You Need to Know About Your Bass's Neck
Chapter One A Brief History of Bass Necks and their Importance When Carol Kaye invented the bass guitar in 1946, she was faced with an essential design decision – should a bass guitar have a neck or not? Washburn RB2500 5-string bass. Nice!!! (and black DR strings)
I just received my latest "eBay special"... a funky looking (refinished in this weird paint that looks mostly purple, with a green hue depending on where the light comes from) Washburn RB2500 with black DR strings on (not sure what gauge, but looks like a regular 40-100 from E to G). And it's fantastic.... more »

I'm Back! (Finally)
I made the move to a new computer and it took forever to get everything up and running again. This new sucker is crazy fast so hopefully I won't have to go through the moving process again for a long time. Nothing like waking up in the middle of the night (morning) thinking "Did I remember to... more »

Traveling with a Bass
Hi All, A quick question. I'm flying with my bass for the first time, taking the Jazz cross country. I've heard that you should detune your strings and I've heard that you should not. Any suggestions? I was planning on putting on new strings before the trip, if that matters. I'm at sea level now and will be when I land, if that matters too.... more »

Beware Cowards
Dont use a pseudonym for a name, you might be trolled by ROBERT SCHUH, the so-called " well known proffessional " musician. Funny, I've never heard of him. But...who gives a fuck. Go peddle your bass now...dipshit.

In memory of Elizabeth Reed
I have this song down but for one part. Maybe someone can help me. If you are listening to the studio cut the song is arranged up to the first jam. Right before the jam starts there is a descending lick. (bar 41 if you have the score) A G F# E Db B C E. Jam. The part before that on guitar (Bar 37-38 & repeat for 39-40)... more »
