23 tubes to get 15 W out per channel. At $5000 a pop. Well, I'm
impressed.

Here's a less great looking upskirt shot:
http://www.deviever.com/fx/forum/download/file.php?id=570&mode=view

Not very impressive considering someone must eventually repair and
retube that thing. I specially liked the integrated circuit labelled
with some obscure slogan. These always make servicing fun...

And a videoclip.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lE_9r2tLFc

Sounded like shit. There were much greater sounding amps at NAMM 2008.
The joke wears out fast. I would never pay 5000$ for that.

I'm not sure I'd pay $50. Yuck!!!!!!

Notice the un-populated areas on the board. WHY..? Housed in what
looks like a too small cheap Marshall cab. Up-Mounted power resistors
are a no no. Wire has to go somewhere, down the spine in the slot,
that gets hot, and gets noisy. I expected more from that guy...

Transformers mounted on the BACK panel? Switching low voltage
PS ripped out of a PC? Sorry, it's laughable. 2 much monkee biz..

I don't know about 'shit', but nothing special. $5k? Sorry, no.

..but I'll fix it when it breaks...for a price....

My bad, looks like tower mount resistors. Much better...

Thanks for the laugh,
man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I clicked the link AFTER reading Brian Hill's statement below (asking
if someone *killed* the guy afterwards......) - The hardest I've
laughed in a while. IT'S PERFECT!
And Brian's statement is absolutely hilarious.

THAT is thee most perfect and *fitting* attachment to that amp. No one
could have *planned* such a thing. What a piece of vile shit. The guts
look like someone at the former SLM went postal, hid in a stall until
shutdown, and then went berserk slapping random shit into a chassis
all night. Five thousand? I'd like to take a piss on that thing before
throwing it off the top level of a parking garage. Intended market? No
idea. Twenty-something, angst-filled mouth-breathers with a trust
fund?

Un-fucking-believable.

I concur.
Double sided PCB (not meant to be easily flipped over)
and yet radial electrolytics installed all over it - retarded.

If that was all that was left out here, I would have to turn off the

I'm speachless!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Freaking speachless.

Get the duck out of here.

The HEAT in that cabinet, and hot spots on that PCB is going to eat itself up from the time it's
turned on.

This, for a power output of WHAT??????

Al Gore should be all over this for its energy wasting design.

The clues???

Look at the weight, the number of power resistors, numbers of tubes, and the need for such a complex
power supply in one box more than appears to be a nightmare looking for an owner.

Heat rises. That's one Hot Box without a fan.

Put that amp through a 100 hour vibration table, and paint shaker test at full power, and see how
long it plays.

You could build an amp with a handfull of resistors and caps, two small trannys, and 6 tube and
equal what was heard in that demo.

I got a phone call today from a friend of the builder of this amp.

LOL, he told me the whole story that lead to it's existence in the first place.

I ROTFLMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You ever hear of a bar bet?

ROTFLMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes,.... you got it.

ROTFLMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!

And, that box on the back panel really is a modified computer power supply.

ROTFLMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's a throw together of common parts, a few mods, twists and wrinkles.

ROTFLMFAO!!!!

Yes, it was designed to be a JOKE on the Guitar Amp Industry!!!!!!!!!!!!

Get 'em while you can.

They're sure to be a collector's item for the future.

Hey Rich, it's a joke, was his message.

Hell, I'm still laughing.

Sure had me fooled.

U2, I bet.

Actually it looks like one of the switchers commonly used in arcade
video games. +5, +12, -5v.

After I saw the pic of the insides I kinda figured it was a joke especially
given the fact that the guys a Metasonix are great designers and techs and
we now know they have a sense of humor! : )

Didn't the logo and faceplate being quite obiously stuck onto a Marshall
head give it away?
