Great Lakes Advocates Call for Restoration of Lake St. Clair

On March 19, Rep. Sander Levin addressed the 4th Binational Lake St.
Clair Conference, discussing efforts to restore and protect Lake St.
Clair. The conference, sponsored by the Great Lakes Commission, was a
gathering of resource managers, local officials, elected
representatives, citizens' groups, business representatives, local
residents and members of the news media with an interest in the Lake
St. Clair watershed. "Wherever you live, whatever your party
affiliation -- Lake St. Clair and the Great Lakes need to be sustained
as the national and international treasures they are," said Rep.
Levin, "All stakeholders must do everything we can to return the Lakes
to their original form."

Rep. Levin and other Michigan lawmakers are seeking federal funding to
help local efforts to restore Lake St. Clair.

Maybe if the United States wasn't so god-damn belligerent and didn't
illegally invade Iraq and then commence to bankrupt itself to the tune
of 500 billion dollars (so far) then maybe just maybe the USA might
have some federal money to spend on a worthwhile project like that.

It's too bad that Americans were such fucking assholes back in Nov
2004 and voted in the monkey known as George Bush for a second term.

Hope you're all enjoying Bush's war on America. He certainly has beat
down Michigan, and Ohio is next.

You've got a point there.

Not sure we did vote for him a second term. In Ohio, two election
workers were convicted on felony charges for rigging the recount to
avoid a more thorough ballot review.

Not for a first term either, according to accurate vote counts.
