I want to have something on my web page about art and design and how some
people dont consider design to be art or artistic.
Would people like to comment on this?

Art is where you look and I believe that just about anything that we do is
art. It comes down to the question; what is art? In response to this
question, the one stipulation that I insist on is that it must be
entertaining. Not everything that I do could be considered entertaining.
It's all subjective and convoluted. There are people out there that are
artists that could easily be called designers. The one that comes to my
mind is Jasper Johns. To me, he seems more like a designer than an artist
but clearly he's an artist. There is simply too thin a line between Design
and Art.
When I am at work at the screen shop, I use both elements to finish the
job. I'm an illustrator and artist at heart so I feel the design is
incomplete if it doesn't include both elements.
