I copied your question and pasted it in Google Search.
In .46 seconds I had numerous answers.
Why could you not do it, nameless one?
Go find yourself a name somewhere
and learn about search machines.
Well, he's/she's gone, probably never to return.
Why do you do this? He/She probably doesn't know how to use a search engine
or know how to set up a user group name.
The other point is that there are many others quietly browsing through the
subjects picking up useful information along the way.
I was curious (not interested at this stage) as to how to stretch the inkjet
printed canvas on the wood frames and a written response or a web link may
have got me and many others interested in the technique. That's all you had
to do.
You went to all the trouble to do a Google search and then came up with your
negative response. This served no purpose at all other than to probably
scare this person away (and probably a few others) with a bad feeling about
newsgroups and those that lurk there.
Anyway, here's a link that goes into a lot of detail:
http://canvasishere.blogspot.com/
There, it didn't take long, didn't cost anything and no one got hurt.
It's that simple.

On the 9th you first asked about printing onto canvas, and obviously you
knew less than nothing.
At the end of that thread on the 11th you said you would buy an Epson 3800
printer.
One day later, you now want to know how to stretch the printed canvas, as if
you had prints ready for stretching.
You must have some materials purchasing rate and learning curve. OR you just
like asking questions for the sake of asking.

And you just like disrespecting anyone who is genuinely curious.

Is there something in the water today?

Floooride! It's diminishing our natural bodily fluids!
The real problem is far more sinister.
These cretins are bored. They've infested most of the low volume
newsgroups and driven newbes away in their droves. Now they troll the few
useful groups left, looking for a post they can gain self gratification
from by insulting the poster. Juvenille minds in control of powerful
computers and nothing to do with them except destroy what they came to
enjoy.

Why I did this? Only one day earlier (go read 'Web Page from CS3')
I supplied, like may times before, a complete answer. With no come
back. Some of them are to stupid to know where they posted and time
and effort gets wasted thus, by answering them.
Secondly, somebody posting messages without using a name,
usually is trolls not wanting to be traced or be remembered.
You ask the regulars how often we do not get a come back on answers
given. We do not want a thank you, but only a sentence saying the
advice was tested.
These judgements on my character are a bit over the top.
Just look at the timeframe involved in this poster's ( Troll? )
questions.
There is no way he could have got a canvas print ready for stretching, just
2 days after not even knowing about the existance of photo canvas, and not
even having the sense to look up the Epson site.
Then he says he is going to buy a 3800 printer, just like that.
He is at it.
Roy G
No one is suggesting he bought the printer or for that matter even made a
print. Did no one ever tell you to do some research before you spent
money or are you one of the fortunate few (it seems like it) who gets
whatever they want without concern for know how to use it?
Your disrespect is the reason I judge you. The very least you could do is
show enough respect to another poster to refrean from making insulting
comments until you are in possession of some facts. Otherwise you fit my
assesment of you.
I wanted to try printing photos on canvas about a year ago, so I Googled
and, yeah, in about .46 seconds I had numerous answers. Problem was, there
were several methods described and techniques were often contradictory or
simply baffling to one who had never done it before. I guess I might have
posted a question here, like mfk, but I didn't really want to invite a storm
of insults from people like you, Dave, because I had already seen that this
group can be a tough nut to crack. Oh, and please don't be too hard on me
because I don't have a real name like you, Dave; I didn't think it was that
big a deal on Usenet. And, btw, I'm still looking for a better technique of
finishing corners on my canvas prints, but please don't trouble yourself
with advice, I shall continue sifting through Google results and studying
other's work.
Good for the OP!
Hello you all guys ;-)
i didn't want to start a flame thread!
i'd like just that you all think about a thing: everyone has got
his/her own personal reasons to do or to don't do a thing.
To Judge is bad. The society of today simply fires on everything put us
one against the other. If a guy doesn't want to answer to my question,
simply has to ignore my thread. The Ng isn't a place owned from a guy
or another..is a opena and free place for everyone.
If i asked on NG without checking before on Google is because i like to
listen a personal suggestion on how to stretch canvas. People that sell
stretch kits the 90% of the times don't know how to use them or try to
sell his/her own stretch kit, they don't interest your own personal
issues and enigma.
If i said to buy a Epson 7880 (not a Epson 3800) is because i need it
to print positive films for screenprinting. I discovered that with this
printer is possible to print on canvas, so i asked simply how to
stretch them.
I hope everything it clear now, and next time please, be more quiet ;-)
Fabio
Wow! I'm downloading entirely the website, thanks a lot!
F.
Hello Fabio,
I started this flame, so I am not to 'be quiet' now.
You may have been misjudged and if this is the case, forgive me
therefore. I am in the habit of (automatically) look at the name of
the posters, and usually the trolls are using such undecipherable
codes like you did.
I keep on remembering one of those trolls posting here on this same
newsgroup, asking for a specific small file (dll or something to this
effect) with a reasonable explanation why his was in need of it.
I took it from my version of PS and emailed it to him. He had some or
another explanation why he could not get it via his email. I then
posted it to my homepage and gave him a link where to download it. He
*downloaded it and replied while swearing at me because the file
'looked funny' to him or something to this effect.
This is not the only incident coming to mind, believe me.
I was serious about what I said about the search machine.
I like your explanation because you 'like to listen to personal
suggestions.' It still left the impression you know nothing about
search machines.
Keep on posting here. You'll learn a lot (and talk to friendly guys
like me)
