In a nutshell: compose your images well, and bump up the contrast and the

ToddMan, if I read your question right, you are wanting to put the
reflections in that you see on glossy photos, but not matte photos. If
this is right, I might suggest that you do as Mike once suggested in a
helpful post....and that is to look at the object you want to copy. See
where and how the reflections look in a real glossy photo and then try
to get the same effect with your PS tools.

How about if you read it left or maybe even backwards? :-)
Better grammar....
"ToddMan, if I interpreted your question correctly, blah, blah, blah..." :)

First of all, your signature. It's the joke of the week!! ;-))
Then...<worthless website snipped>
Next...you post this ridiculous comment immediately after what you said
in your last post? You don't even know what you are writing, do you?
;-)) I see now that other folks are right in their opinion that you ARE
a indeed a troll. Hmmm...I hate to put people in the kill file, because
every once in a while you might get something constructive from
everyone, but I don't think anything constructive CAN or WILL come from
you and besides that, I hate reading messages from trolls....trolls have
no sense, you see and people shouldn't feed the trolls.

Yes, occasionally I do help the "GOOD" people in this newsgroup. You may
put me in your killfile, Jerry, as I have no control over your actions.
However, that will never change the fact that I can kick your graphics
behind around with my little pinkie :)
Toodles, Jerry! :)

Now look here, Uni! So you realize how foolish this statement is?
First of all, you don't know me and you know nothing about my graphic
skills. That said, how can you make such a statement with a straight
face? Are you clairvoyant?
Here's what I think you are. I think you are just a young man who wants
desperately to be thought of as a graphic artist, yet you can't get
people to accept that, so you lash out at them and keep reaching around
to pat yourself on the back for your so-called graphic skills. You have
none that I can see and I imagine one of your arms is at least a foot
longer than the other one, from all the self back patting. Give it a
break, huh?
And another thing. Make no mistake about it, Uni, you *do not* have to
be able to do good graphic work to recognize good graphic work. I had
an art instructor once, who couldn't paint and would not touch the
students work, yet he was a brilliant teacher of art. He knew so much
about art and graphic work that it amazed me. I mean, he taught
composition, color, motion to attack and many other things that artists
need to know to go along with whatever skills they have. There's not
too many who possess all that is to be known in the art world....except
maybe you. ;-))
HTH,

Supernews (usenet host) has very good retention time, so I had a chance
to review what you say and ask.

Well, you had your say, so let me have mine. I personally know an artist
who sells $4500 paintings and has been painting for most of his 65 years
on earth. His comment, after seeing my web site was "very artist!" and
he said I should begin looking like an artist and not a well dressed
business man. Also, if you don't take pride in your work, who will? You
HAVE to believe in yourself before anyone will believe in you.
I visit a fair amount of graphics newsgroups and I seldom see anyone
doing animated 3D graphics or even multiplexing sound with them.
However, what I do see a lot of is Bryce and Poser graphics. They are
nice, but they soon become boring, because everyone is doing them. It
apparently doesn't take much skill to use those applications. People shy
away from real 3D graphics and animations because they are time
consuming as well as complex.
Me, I just use free software and shed a little light on what can be
accomplished with it. This 3D stuff is rather new to me, but with time
I'll have it down to a science.
Yeah, yeah, I too can do manual color correction:

...as well as "cute" graphics:

...but I don't wish for that to be my forte.
I'm not sure what type of graphics you specialize in, but my eyes are
open if you wish to show me.
Uni - <snipped my own web site url to save Jerry the task> :)
Why is it interesting?
I don't see any difference between Before and After, really
Stephan
Wrong. He's a middle-aged unemployed ex-truckdriver who masquerades as a
former programmer when he wants to impress someone with his credentials.
But I'm sure you can tell that by looking at his graphics. He only posts in
here to get a rise out of people, since most other newsgroups he inhabits
ignore him like a rude smell.
BTW, he doesn't own Photoshop, any version, or even PS Elements, as he
couldn't afford to buy the full version when his eval version of Elements
1.0 expired. THAT's why he espouses freeware - it's not a philosophical
choice, it's an economical one.
Save yourself a bit of time and energy, Jerry, and dump him in your killfile
right now - and never look back. He'll never ever produce anything worth
looking at, in any sense of the words. (And dump his pal Mike C. when he
shows up, which he surely will as soon as he reads this. Trolls are so
predictable, but they are also invisible, at least to the likes of moi.)

Uni - maybe YOU should stick to the values you post on your cheap /
free website, if you are so good, how come you can't afford your own
domain name & website? Maybe you should read the FAQ you post at
angelfire http://www.angelfire.com/empire/abpsp/index.html , Oops
thats for psp, but then again you don't practies what you preach, as
in "1c.) Positive comments, suggestions, tutorials etc." from your
FAQ!
