Hi

I've just got Illustrator 8 and I am a novice (a beginner, not a nun!).

When I use the paintbrush with certain brushes e.g. watercolor, the first
stroke I get is just a blue spotted line. I only get the proper stroke when
I release the mouse button. Is this really how it should work? I find the
lack of immediate feedback makes illustration difficult.

Any advice, tips etc please?

Thanks

Howard

That's just the way it works. You might try creating a Calligraphic brush
that is the same width as the watercolor brush, drawing with it, then
replacing the brush stroke with the watercolor brush (just select the
stroke then click on the brush you want).
