profiles and photographs of the work of legendary New York artists and
crews. This site is the most comprehensive site on the web dedicated
to New York City Subway art.

Note: The original name for this art form is "Writing". The media
imposed term graffiti actually came later.

Well, not all the media--just The New York Times. In Philadelphia,
where the movement originated, the defunct Philadelphia Bulletin
labeled the movement "Doodling" in the late '60's and early '70's.
