Speeders & Drunk Drivers are MURDERERS

If they are, i can tell you what will happen. The state will deliberately
do a terrible job in prosecuting them and they will be found not guilty and
then cannot be tried again.

It would just be a ploy to get them off the hook forever.

Let me count the ways.

FBI agents weren't given approval to search a terrorist suspects hard drive
that could have prevented 911
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3067609/

FBI agents were told to back off the Binladens
http://www.guardian.co.uk/Archive/Article/0,4273,4293682,00.html
http://www1.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/cms.dll/articleshow?art_id=1030259305

FBI agents say investigations that could have stopped Binladens network were
thwarted
http://www.judicialwatch.org/archive/2001/1075.shtml

And then there was the warnings.
http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/chronicle/archive/2001/09/12/MN229389.DTL
For Mayor Willie Brown, the first signs that something was amiss came late
Monday when he got a call from what he described as his airport security - -
a full eight hours before yesterday's string of terrorist attacks --
advising him that Americans should be cautious about their air travel.

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2001/07/26/national/main303601.shtml
(CBS) Fishing rod in hand, Attorney General John Ashcroft left on a weekend
trip to Missouri Thursday afternoon aboard a chartered government jet,
reports CBS News Correspondent Jim Stewart.

In response to inquiries from CBS News over why Ashcroft was traveling
exclusively by leased jet aircraft instead of commercial airlines, the
Justice Department cited what it called a "threat assessment" by the FBI,
and said Ashcroft has been advised to travel only by private jet for the
remainder of his term.

"There was a threat assessment and there are guidelines. He is acting under
the guidelines," an FBI spokesman said. Neither the FBI nor the Justice
Department, however, would identify what the threat was, when it was
detected or who made it.

And then the ignored warnings.
http://www.villagevoice.com/2002-05-28/news/u-s-ignored-warnings-from-french/

A key point in unraveling why the FBI failed to follow up leads on Al Qaeda
terrorism now centers on the Bureau's contemptuously brushing aside warnings
from French intelligence a few days before 9-11. In a footnote to her May
21, 2002, letter to FBI director Robert Mueller, Coleen Rowley, the director
of the FBI's Minneapolis office, cryptically alluded to the FBI supervising
agent in Washington being given info on the so-called 20th hijacker,
Zacarias Moussaoui, by the French last summer, but choosing not to act on
it.

CAIRO, June 3 ? Egyptian intelligence warned American officials about a week
before Sept. 11 that Osama bin Laden's network was in the advance stages of
executing a significant operation against an American target, President
Hosni Mubarak said in an interview on Sunday.

http://archive.newsmax.com/archives/articles/2002/9/19/64246.shtml
Capitol Hill -- The lead investigator for the joint House and Senate inquiry
said in the committee's first public hearing Wednesday that Congress was
warned that Osama bin Laden was planning a large-scale attack against U.S.
or Israeli interests two months before Sept. 11, 2001.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/south_asia/2242594.stm
An aide to the former Taleban foreign minister, Wakil Ahmad Muttawakil, has
revealed that he was sent to warn American diplomats and the United Nations
that Osama bin Laden was due to launch a huge attack on American soil.

The bottom line is Ameruca was warned about Binladen's threat. They should
have arrested him or tried to extradite him. But they didn't. Bush waited
until after 911 to go after the threat.

I believe in evidence. I believe in observation, measurement, and

matter how wild and ridiculous, if there is evidence for it. The wilder and
more ridiculous something is, however, the firmer and more solid the
evidence will have to be.

Come on Seon, you really can't be as forgetful as you're claiming to be.
As has been shown, time and time again, before 911, NORAD wasn't
involved with flights originating in the US, only planes entering US
airspace from outside.

If you have forgotten this, after all the times you've read it in the
past, you've got something growing inside your head, pressing on
something, or you've been having electroshock treatments and don't
remember them either.

Do you know what happens when a transponder is switched off? The
reason the hijackers switched the transponders off?

When a transponder is switched off the aircraft disappears from RADAR
screens. Unless the operator changes to primary echo display he can no
longer see the aircraft. The thousands of other aircraft that are
transmitting transponder replies are all still there. The aircraft
without a transponder has just become an invisible needle in an
aeroplane haystack.

What Clinton Didn't Do . . .
. . . .and when he didn't do it.

.... let us examine Mr. Clinton's war on terror. Some 38
days after he was sworn in, al Qaeda attacked the World Trade Center. He
did not visit the twin towers that year, even though four days after the
attack he was just across the Hudson River in New Jersey, talking about
job training. He made no attempt to rally the public against terrorism.
His only public speech on the bombing was a few paragraphs inserted into a
radio address mostly devoted to an economic stimulus package. Those stray
paragraphs were limited to reassuring the public and thanking the
rescuers, the kinds of things governors say after hurricanes. He did not
even vow to bring the bombers to justice. Instead, he turned the first
terrorist attack on American soil over to the FBI.

In his Fox interview, Mr. Clinton said "no one knew that al Qaeda existed"
in October 1993, during the tragic events in Somalia. But his national
security adviser, Tony Lake, told me that he first learned of bin Laden
"sometime in 1993," when he was thought of as a terror financier. U.S.
Army Capt. James Francis Yacone, a black hawk squadron commander in
Somalia, later testified that radio intercepts of enemy mortar crews
firing at Americans were in Arabic, not Somali, suggesting the work of bin
Laden's agents (who spoke Arabic), not warlord Farah Aideed's men (who did
not). CIA and DIA reports also placed al Qaeda operatives in Somalia at
the time.

By the end of Mr. Clinton's first year, al Qaeda had apparently attacked
twice. The attacks would continue for every one of the Clinton years.

In 1994, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (who would later plan the 9/11 attacks)
launched "Operation Bojinka" to down 11 U.S. planes simultaneously over
the Pacific. A sharp-eyed Filipina police officer foiled the plot. The
sole American response: increased law-enforcement cooperation with the
Philippines.

In 1995, al Qaeda detonated a 220-pound car bomb outside the Office of
Program Manager in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, killing five Americans and
wounding 60 more. The FBI was sent in.

In 1996, al Qaeda bombed the barracks of American pilots patrolling the
"no-fly zones" over Iraq, killing 19. Again, the FBI responded.

In 1997, al Qaeda consolidated its position in Afghanistan and bin Laden
repeatedly declared war on the U.S. In February, bin Laden told an Arab TV
network: "If someone can kill an American soldier, it is better than
wasting time on other matters." No response from the Clinton
administration.

In 1998, al Qaeda simultaneously bombed U.S. embassies in Kenya and
Tanzania, killing 224, including 12 U.S. diplomats. Mr. Clinton ordered
cruise-missile strikes on Afghanistan and Sudan in response. Here Mr.
Clinton's critics are wrong: The president was right to retaliate when
America was attacked, irrespective of the Monica Lewinsky case.

Still, "Operation Infinite Reach" was weakened by Clintonian compromise.
The State Department feared that Pakistan might spot the American missiles
in its air space and misinterpret it as an Indian attack. So Mr. Clinton
told Gen. Joe Ralston, vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, to
notify Pakistan's army minutes before the Tomahawks passed over Pakistan.
Given Pakistan's links to jihadis at the time, it is not surprising that
bin Laden was tipped off, fleeing some 45 minutes before the missiles
arrived.

In 1999, the Clinton administration disrupted al Qaeda's Millennium
plots, a series of bombings stretching from Amman to Los Angeles. This
shining success was mostly the work of Richard Clarke, a NSC senior
director who forced agencies to work together. But the Millennium approach
was shortlived. Over Mr. Clarke's objections, policy reverted to the
status quo.

In January 2000, al Qaeda tried and failed to attack the U.S.S. The
Sullivans off Yemen. (Their boat sank before they could reach their
target.) But in October 2000, an al Qaeda bomb ripped a hole in the hull
of the U.S.S. Cole, killing 17 sailors and wounding another 39.

When Mr. Clarke presented a plan to launch a massive cruise missile strike
on al Qaeda and Taliban facilities in Afghanistan, the Clinton cabinet
voted against it. After the meeting, a State Department counterterrorism
official, Michael Sheehan, sought out Mr. Clarke. Both told me that they
were stunned. Mr. Sheehan asked Mr. Clarke: "What's it going to take to
get them to hit al Qaeda in Afghanistan? Does al Qaeda have to attack the
Pentagon?"

There is much more to Mr. Clinton's record--how Predator drones, which
spotted bin Laden three times in 1999 and 2000, were grounded by
bureaucratic infighting; how a petty dispute with an Arizona senator
stopped the CIA from hiring more Arabic translators. While it is easy to
look back in hindsight and blame Bill Clinton, the full scale and nature
of the terrorist threat was not widely appreciated until 9/11. Still: Bill
Clinton did not fully grasp that he was at war. Nor did he intuit that war
requires overcoming bureaucratic objections and a democracy's natural
reluctance to use force. That is a hard lesson. But it is better to learn
it from studying the Clinton years than reliving them.

Pro-Invasion, Pro-Torture, Pro-Domestic spying.

FAA flight manual? What FAA flight manual?

>to send planes to planes that turn off their responders?

Responders?????

How can you make these accusations when you obviously haven't looked into
this stuff yourself?

A flight manual is something a pilot gets with his plane. It is produced by
the aircraft manufacturer and details such stuff as procedures, airspeeds,
checklists... operational stuff for pilots.

Responders? From the context you used this word in, I'm guessing you mean
transponders. A transponder is a piece of equipment in an aircraft that
automatically replies with a coded signal to the interrogations of a
secondary surveillance RADAR. This code is normally assigned by air traffic
control, but it can be changed by the pilot. There are set codes that may
be entered for Lost Communications, General Emergency, or Hijacking. If a
transponder goes off while the aircraft is in flight this could be because
the transponder has failed, the aircraft has blown up, or crashed, or
someone has turned it off.

Air traffic controllers generally (always?) use their RADAR stations in a
mode which displays secondary (functioning transponder) targets only. This
means that the primary (normal RADAR echoes) targets don't display. Anyone
without a transponder does not show up on their RADAR. Turn the transponder
off and the aircraft disappears. The mode of the RADAR has to be changed to
*try* and relocate it.

All of this is in the 911 Commission Report which I asked you to read the
last time we went over this stuff. You *did* read it. Didn't you?

problems, why are we asking them to fix them now. And the bailout of bank
CEO's getting middle/lower class taxpayer millions - how is that moral.
Basically he said we should let things take their course and let everything
find it's natural level, which I agree.

In general I didn't like Saddam Hussein's economy picks, either,
but they all have been proven wrong. The one that sounded good was Joseph
Stiglitz who of course was not picked for Obama's cabinet.

FBI seeks more than 3,000 new staff in historic hiring blitz
By Brittany R. Ballenstedt January 8, 2009
The FBI has launched a major hiring initiative aimed at filling more than
3,000 professional and special agent jobs left vacant due to retirements and
attrition, the bureau announced this week.

The FBI said on Monday that it expects to fill more than 2,100 professional
staff positions throughout its field offices and headquarters divisions. The
vacancies include fields such as engineering, finance, human resources,
information technology, nursing and records management. The bureau also
plans to hire 850 new special agents.

"The FBI has posted these new positions to meet current and expected
vacancies primarily due to retirements and attrition," spokeswoman Denise
Ballew said Wednesday. The hiring blitz is one of the largest in the FBI's
101-year history.

The bureau's recruitment strategies will include enhanced targeting for
critically skilled professionals, specifically those fluent in at least one
of several foreign languages, including Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, Korean,
Pashto, Russian, Spanish and Vietnamese, Ballew said. The bureau also will
target individuals with skills in information technology, engineering,
intelligence, law, military and physical sciences, she added.

To speed the process, the FBI also plans to hold a mega career invitational,
where all selected candidates will gather at designated locations for
interviews. Those who are selected for positions will be immediately
scheduled for polygraphs, drug screenings and employment briefings, the
bureau said.

All open positions, which are posted on the new FBI Jobs Web site, will
close Jan. 16. The bureau expects to have all positions filled and employees
on board by Sept. 30.

Just what *DO* the UTTER BUFFOONS at State 'think' that means?

This is precisely-why a fact based memorial to 911

Apply for one of those jobs? Why? You don't get to be #2 overnight you

Yeah, I bet if we plotted it all out, there would be a distinct pattern
visible.

Maybe it would break "The case of the curious kooktard", and allow
medical science to develop some treatment for the acute form of
Kooktardery.

He apparently read the last paragraph of the CO2 post I sent him. Not the
rest, just the last paragraph. I think this might be why he never seems to
know anything after we tell him again and again. He never reads more than
