A small glimpse of the world as seen through gnus:

! < 48: Peter H. Coffin >
! < 51: Peter H. Coffin >
! < 50: Peter H. Coffin >

I wonder what was going on there.... I sometimes search for "51: Peter"
when I want to find the latest "Weekly posting summary", but all of a
sudden the number of lines were varying.

What's going on, apparently, is that some weeks we don't *have* 20
people posting, so the "top 20" list has fewer than 20 entries. Yow.

Any week you like, you can break the top 20 by posting just once.

What on earth for? It's *our* newsgroup, and discussions of initial
dating dynamics is a perfectly legitimate use of our newsgroup.

There we go... I knew I'd take it with my total assault
burst-mode tactics.

Of course, it was ridiculously easy this week, because it
really only had 19 top posters (not to be confused with
top-posters).

It'll probably be even easier this week, as at least a couple of the
usual top posters are likely to be at Whitby.

So have I now. :) I got it done on Friday and I'm very
happy about it. Now I feel like I can get back to socialising properly
for the first time in six months without always having that nagging fear
in the back of my mind. Ironically, I had a cold last week and was
coughing in my university class, and everybody shrank nervously away
from me, doubtless thinking they might catch swine 'flu.

For apparently making the newsgroup *all about MEEEE!* ;-P

Most of the advice seemed to boil down to "Come out of yourself", so
seeing as how hijacking the ng wasn't exactly the best way of doing that
I thought I'd better make some sort of amends. Whatevs!
