C16 Pre-Party

Long time readers may recall that I've long held the opinion that the
point of marriage is citizenship.
Long (and not so long) time readers are also aware that Siobhan and I
are also big proponents of the 'any excuse for a big party' principle.
Next year we're planning another in our series of big road trips
[a][1] to exploreUtah and the surrounding area on the way to
Convergence 16, Park City[b][2].
One of us[3] pointed out that
1) Las Vegas is close to Utah
2) Las Vegas has a wide[c] selection[d] of[e] the[f] finest[g]
Elvis[h] Weddings [i].[j] [4][k]
Guess which of the two aforementioned beliefs won out?
So we decided that rolling into Vegas after a week or more camping in
the desert[l] to get hitched would be a greatexcuse for a big, fun,
silly party right before a 4 day long reception[b][5] which we don't
have to organise.
Just in case this isn't abundantly clear already - you're all invited
to show up. The more the merrier. Knowing how many people are planning
to show up will influence the amount of Elvis we end up getting[6] so
please let us know.
That being said, if it's an either/or choice between Las Vegas or
Convergence 16, Park City[b][2], we'd prefer you to come to
Convergence 16, Park City[b][2] 'cos we'll be there longer.
As a consequence, I've decided that I won't be having a Pig Roast for
my birthday party this year...
I'm going to roast an Elk instead. A proper Stag Party as it were.

Siobhan is not a big fan of EVENTS starring her. This is an excuse for
a party so the proper response is NOT "Congratulations".

Awesome. I'm in, for sure. I have C16 in the calendar and will (hopefully)
make it this year. I'm in for the stag party and the reception also.

Barring strange financial circumstances, I'm in :) I'll be moving
here soon from Salem up to Portland to a different job (assuming I get
it), so that could change everything...
