hmm...I'd have that checked out posthaste :)

anyway...um...in the carousel:

something called "Adventures In Early Music" (very misleading title,
that--since when is Barber's Adagio "early music"-?!?!)
Shinjuku Thief-Bloody Tourist
Joy Division-Unknown Pleasures
Kraftwerk-The Mix

I have to wonder why people are responding to this.. Many polls are pretty
lame, but fun never theless..

But c'mon!!! This guy never even posts to my knowledge, and decided to clutter
things with a cheesy poll.

Christ.. "Cain" please actually contribute something of worth to the group
before posting a lame assed poll. And i'm not talking about a post on how cool
Rammstein is or how Gothic you are.

There's already about 3 along the lines of cd's going right now anyway, for
those who think this is a good way to start discussing music..

I've seen him post a few times. Personally, I would rather read a music poll
than read a thread about the wonders of bubble wrap or <yawn> London After
Midnight.

God, give the guy a break. If you think one more music poll is "cluttering
things," look around. And frankly, I could care less about whether this is a
good way to start discussing music--some people--myself included--find it
interesting to read what others listen to, so I can decide their worth as a
human being. }:) This sort of poll shows up *all* the time--just 'cause the
person who started it listens to Rammstein doesn't mean he deserves to be
slagged. (Well...not for starting the poll, anyway.)

There's numerous other posts around if you hadnt noticed, besides crap like
that.. a rather interesting one on Drugs, one one reliving days of being a
geek, numerous things. This board has shitloads of rediculous stupid polls.
Besides, saying "Yeah, i have Das Ich in my cd player!" doesnt exactly give
much insight.

You also apparently dont read very well if you think I was referring to any
part of his post reread mine.

Does that mean you should contribute to the "clutter". Look around.. we dont
need more.

Look a little deeper for reasons.. Hell, I listen to Rammstein on occasion..

It's just more clutter that's already on the group x3. I dont like it. It's
here, i'm dealing. Now you fucking deal. I'm just starting conversation off
an already otherwise lame thread.

Yup.

I find it more insightful than someone's zodiac sign.

Eh? I read (properly constructed, not run-on sentences) perfectly well. If it
wasn't referring to his post, then what *was* it referring to?

True, but determining what's clutter is quite subjective. If people didn't like
" ridiculous stupid polls," they wouldn't participate in them, and they
wouldn't resurface time and again.

This is one of the few polls I'd bother responding to. Why? Because
it's about as straight forward as discussions on our varying tastes
can get. I find reading the answers to be more interesting than most
other "fluff" threads.

This is called a difference of opinion, and since it's based on
fluff, I don't understand why you're offended by that. Myself, I've
had to come to terms with that fact that alt.gothic is full of fluff
that I couldn't care less about, so I just skim over most of it. I
suggest that you learn to do the same.

Curve's "Doppelganger" a little earlier this evening, but I had to take it
out because it's really my roommate's CD player and he came home from
work. BTW, I'm a little disappointed with their new stuff.

Switchblade's "Bread and Jam for Francis" in my car. Unfortunately, that's
not a CD, but a recording of a CD on cassette. I'll get the 10 disk

I'm not offended by it, and yes, there is a difference of opinion.. I respect
that. But i'll get to why I reacted harshly..

>so I just skim over most of it. I
>suggest that you learn to do the same.

I do so on a regular basis. This kind of irked me though, because I see around
10 to 20 polls, if not more, in a given month, many of them asking almost the
same fucking question.. It gets rather annoying. And I would have skimmed over
it, but when i'm bored, or it's late, I go through everything.. I've been sick
this week, so.. :)

That, and i'm an asshole. Or, as one friend called me, a "fascist net.cop in
the making." :)

Besides, I was also trying to irk someone, anyone. Not as a troll, but to get
people thinking a little further beyond "wow, this person is listening to these
cds. how exciting." then going through a couple threads and seeing the same
fucking question.

"Can you really be so blind and dull.. ?"

I like Polls :P

I'm egotistical and like to talk about myself :)

So, in my CD changer (I don't have a hi-fi - either it's in the car or I
listen using the computer's CD player).

1 - Beastie Boys - some early stuff. Jonny Royale, that sort of thing.
2 - Soundtracking - compilation of Soundtrack songs.
3 - Radiohead OK Computer
4 - erm. Not sure. Maybe Blood Sugar Sex Magik
5 - P.W.E.I (Just got this yesterday) Wise Up Suckers - compilation and
cheap - and I now find what the Poppies are like and *grrr* why didn't I
get this when they were current...
6 - Sister of Mercy, Floodland
7 - Bjork - Post
8 - Tori Amos, little earthquakes
9 - Jane's Addiction, the one with Been Caught Stealing
10 - Marrillion, Misplaced Childhood

Christ.. "conversations lead to frienships". That's great. But if this is the
way you look for to do it, there's a couple threads about it already. That
isnt to say they shouldnt come up again, but c'mon, read the fucking group!

Lorenna McKennitt: Mummers dance, Xymox (anything), The Damned: Lite at
the end of the tunnel, And My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult: Kooler than
Jesus.
There's hella other stuff too that's all very diverse but that's what's
making us tap our toes this week.

Yup. I got the CD (released, I believe, in 1990) by mail order through
Relapse Records - and they're still listing it in their catalogue. I
think their web address is www.relaspe.com. There're two extra tracks
on the CD release...

* Revelations of Doom
* Messiah

Coincidentally I'm listening to the Lost Highway soundtrack right now. I
don't really like the Rammstein songs on it, but I usually let 'em play
through. But I'm shocked to actually sorta like one of the Manson songs on
it, as well as the Smashing Pumpkins, whome I normally also hate.

I have a 5-CD carousel but usually I only have one disc in at a time, unless
I've just bought a few new ones, then I put 'em all in at once.

The aforementioned roommate bought what I at first thought was the new
album, but it turns out it's the "Chinese Burn" single thingy. I realized
this after hearing about 5 versions of that song.

Taken by itself, it's not bad. It's kinda electronica (or whatever) type
stuff. I don't mind that stuff, so I can listen to this. However, it's not
as good as their previous releases, IMO. I was expecting something a
little closer to the Curve I know and love, and this just isn't.

I just got finished listening to the album for the first time. It does have a
lot of hard techno sounds on it, very different. I like it though. Can't
really judge it fully yet.

Anyway, I went a little crazy at Tower today. I've had a very rotten weekend
so I'm entitled. This is what happens when I start at A and browse across the
whole store till the end of the alphabet; I find a lot of stuff I didn't know
existed, that I felt I had to have. So here are the four new CDs currently in
my player:

Curve/Come Clean (the only one I went *intending* to buy)
Jack Frost/Snowjob
Sky Cries Mary/Fresh Fruits For The Liberation
Faith & Desire/livesongs: 3rd body

Cain (Martin Giard) queried:

> What Cd's are in your player right now folks?

Right now, I'm listening to Virgin Prunes, "Sons Find Devils," and
Gavin Friday, "Shag Tobacco."

Just as a brief intro (if anyone cares), I'm named after a musical
piece by Duke Ellington (jazz is one of my other favourite genres), I
live in Charlotte, NC. I'm 24 (soon to be 25 - a Taurus) and I'm
basically a starving writer. ;>

I love four things more than anything else in the world: Chainsaw (my
SO), music, cigarettes and coffee. ("One of these things is not like
the others...") Anybody who wants to know any more about me, see my
web page *plugplug*.

I used to read a.g long ago, but stopped for about two years. I'm
back (and the crowd goes wild: "yaaaay.").

Happy St. Patrick's Day, by the way.

This week's vinyl rekerd has been 'A Secret Wish' by Propaganda. A lost
classic of '80s pop. I finally got a copy last week. Woo woo!

I have the remixes album, 'Wishful Thinking', but in Perth, not here.

Claudia Brucken released a solo album in 1989, but it got lost when Island
was bought by PolyGram. Did *anyone* get a copy? I'd love to hear it.

Right now: Gothspotting.
Not a bad comp, but why does an album with NO Specimen on it have THREE
pictures of Specimen on it? Hmm.

The new Lisa Gerrard album. Excellent!

A medieval album from Project Ars Nova.

Yay Leonora! You converted another to the wonders of Die Form..
Brian, if you like their "best of", you should definently pick up other albums,
some of my faves being Rose Au Coeur Violet, Suspiria De Profundis, and L'ame
Electrique.. Phenomina of Visitation and Tears of Eros are pretty good too..
