LOL! Either, please!

LOL! Either, please!
Sorry, life got in the way of replying.
I've been learning a lot from the Threads magazine web site. (Taunton
Press). They have some great articles on techniques, some of which have
baffled me for years. They are the best sewing technique site I've seen so
far.
For inspiration, Haute Macabre updates most every day:
http://hautemacabre.com/ A lot of the stuff they post about are boots and
the lot, but sometimes there is clothing of the home do-able sort.
Lately, Jilli has been posting a lot of pictures of what she wears to work.
She used to be active on this list years ago, but I can't remember what her
net nick was. She's cupcake goth on LJ:
http://cupcake-goth.livejournal.com/profile She remakes and alters clothing
a LOT to suit her taste.
The LJ group gothfash is maintained by folks that used to be here:
http://community.livejournal.com/gothfash/profile
The group is pretty slow most times except for ebay ads, but if someone
answers a question, people almost always speak up, and there are pictures in
the back posts.
That's all I can come up with right this minute. I *know* I have other
websites bookmarked, but hell if I can find them right now!

I am sick, so I haven't had a chance to check on any groups or keep
up with my e-mails. I will check out your suggestions soon, though.
The suggestions look great! I ought to be up to speed in a week or
so. I have a virus and a sinus infection. Thanks!

I love re-making clothes, especially upcycling thrift store finds.
There's something immensely satisfying about creating your very own
one-of-a-kind gothtastic outfit from two $3 dresses and $4 of trim.
(A $10 outfit which I usually wear with $250 New Rocks... oh, the
contrast! Heh.)
Etsy (www.etsy.com) is my favorite website for inspiration. It's full
of handmade clothing items, many of them DIY and/or upcycled. Do a
search for "goth" or "gothic clothing" and your eyes will be treated
to a bevy of beautiful designs. There are many rockabilly, punk, and
steampunk designs, too.
For techniques, try What the Craft (www.whatthecraft.com). It has an
extensive tutorial database, including a section on sewing.
