BOSTON -- A Billerica man is accused of spanking his wife during an
argument that stemmed over his alleged excessive viewing of pornography
on the Internet.

Robert Noetzel, 47, pleaded not guilty to one count of assault and
battery with a dangerous weapon on Monday, according to the Lowell Sun.

Police said his wife, Sharon Noetzel, went to the police station to say
that her husband chased her in their home, pulled down her pants, and hit
her on her behind. She said the spankings left red marks and welts.

She threw her cell phone at him, but Robert Noetzel allegedly pushed his
wife down and began kicking her, the newspaper reported.

Noetzel was released on personal recognizance and is due back in court on
Feb. 3.
