So You Want To Know What Happens At The End Of Remember Me???

Do you really want to know?

Look, we're going to be honest with you. There is a crazy, shocking
twist at the end of Robert Pattinson's movie Remember Me. We know it,
we're going to tell it to you, but if you are really looking to enjoy
this movie, we recommend not reading any further. We think it is worth
the surprise.

So STOP READING right now, if you don't want to know the ending to
this movie.

Don't say we didn't warn you.

Okay, here's the deal:

Though viewers are led to believe that the movie is set in the present
day, it's actually set in 2001. In the final moments of the film,
Robert Pattinson's character has a fight with his girlfriend, played
by Emilie de Ravin. He leaves to go to his father's office and when he
arrives, he rides the elevator up to the 92nd-floor. As he waits for
his father, he looks out the window and helpleslly watches American
Airlines Flight 11 hit the building and dies in what is now known as
9/11.

Movie over.

Now that's what we call a twist! We might even see this thing now,
just for the ending!

What do U think of the ending?!

I don't know if you're kidding or not, but I think it's a great
ending. I want to see movies involving 9/11.

Especially if you are a New Yorker who was there in those days. The
rubble is reduced further by trite commercialism and a stupid love
story. I want to believe that even soulless Hollywood hacks are better
than that but I'm always proved wrong. Find what utter scum produced
this film and pluck out their eyes with a rusty icepick.

Seems clever to me. The movie starts and you learn that
someone died in the World Trade Center eight years ago.
Okay, so it's 2009 now. But at the end you find out that
eight years ago was the 1993 bombing, and it's 2001 now.
That's clever, say what you like.

Say what I like? How about "you're a fucking moron with no taste and
an idiotic sensibility that is far removed from anything remotely
human." I don't care about your taste in movies. We all have our own.
Reducing terrorist bombings and mass killings to a "clever" device for
some trashy love story is just fucking crass commercialism and is
exploiting the events for a power the film could never reach on its
own. For you to think that this is clever shows you don't think. A lot
of people here think you're a moron because of the movies you
champion. Like I said, that doesn't matter to me and I've avoided ever
getting in your face about it. Now, however, I think you're a complete
waste of time and energy. Not only that I think you do it
intentionally because you have no life, no feelings, no future.

You suck and I hope your life stays just as miserable as it is now.

Yup. It's the easy way out, something you do when you can't think
of a way to end your stupid story.

This is the film version of that hoax polaroid picture, purported to
show a guy standing on the WTC while the plane headed in.

I love you too, william, and with all due respect, you
holier-than-thou libs are forever telling people how they
should feel about things. You don't know how I feel
about 9/11, and nothing I've said here gives you a clue.

By the way, I'm not unfeeling about New York. It has
always been my favorite city, that I visited dozens of
times before moving back to the south. My last trip
back there was in May of 1997, exactly half way between
the two WTC attacks (unwittingly clever of me).

First off, dimwit, where do you get that I'm a "lib"? No one is
telling you how to feel. I'm telling you that you're too stupid to
recognize cheap exploitation when you see it. So you're wrong both
times and it's not surprising since you're fallen into your own head
and imagine that anyone that disagrees with you is a "lib." Fuck off.
I'll never respond to another of your worthless, self-serving, totally
bullshit posts. You're a total waste of meat and time.

Now I am butting in again into something which is none of my business. But I
would personally not like to see more films about 9/11. It would revive that
Bush dogma which I am glad to be gone. Maybe it's just too close in time.
It's like we've had a second "McCarthy period", which needs to be digested
and understood before we can talk about it. However, I understand that you
as Americans (I am Norwegian remember) may feel differently about it,
especially anyone who was in NY on 9/11 2001. Some would like to see their
life on screen, while others may feel like I do. I shouldn't be a big deal
in any case.

It's what you do with it.
I read a story about a man who should have been at work in the WTC,
but who was in a casual sexual encounter instead. Everyone thought he
was missing, and he decided to escape his life and family. Months
later he realized he'd made a mistake he couldn't undo. The effect was
a lot like that in "Seconds".

There's also the honeymoon couple in "Cavalcade", being romantic on an
ocean liner. As the scene ends, they walk off, revealing a life bouy
with "Titanic" on it--but you have to be Noel Coward to carry off
something like that.
Whereas this instance sounds a lot like the numbers tattooed on Ruth
Gordon's wrist in "Harold and Maude"--a serious event exploited by a
trivial work, trying to make itself significant.

Harold and Maude was an excellent film.
