Could it be that a naughty nighttime newbie has been enjoying his
success? So
say my buddies who are friends with the hunk's home boys (and trust
me when I
say there are lots of boys in that home). One of the surprisingly
regular
visitors to the casa of the not-so-tall, dark, and handsome dude is his
fair-haired predecessor. Comparing notes? Or finding some common
ground?
Either way, it sounds like there's little chance of gathering moss.
Billie
ME:
How about Craig Ferguson? He replaced Conan ("fair haired
predecessor"). Ferguson is dark haired, but with a bit (alot?) of grey
hair.
Smokie Darling (Annie)
Huh?
I'm trying to find ONE way that Jon Stewart fits the clues.
BTW, can you please put a space between the quoted post and
your reply?
Kris
I agree with your guess, except that he replaced Craig Kilborn, not Conan.
>
Not so tall, dark and handsome Stewart. Not exactly a newbie, though.
Craig Ferguson was my first thought, but he is quite tall.
Mez
I agree with your guess, except that he replaced Craig Kilborn, not
Conan.
ME:
<blush>can you tell that I don't watch late night television? Oops, I
just knew that he came on after Letterman.
Smokie Darling (Annie)
The "newbie" is "a hunk"....and that's not Stewart at all.
I read it as someone who is "dark and handsome" but "not so tall"...and
Stewart's not really dark.
"Casa" is a Hispanic reference to "House", and "little chance of
gathering moss" relates to "rolling Stone". Common ground....
dirt, yard, landscaping......
The Mole is a Stone Stanley Production.......
This isn't necessarily a late-night show; just a nighttime (prime time)
thing.
I'm thinking some sort of reality show.
Kris
Craig Ferguson and Craig Kilborn? Do I have their names right? Ferguson is
dark-haired; KiIborn, his predecessor, is fair.(I don't know signifigance of
"gathering moss")
-Mindy
Craig Kilborn, who's fair-haired, was Jon Stewart's predecessor in "The
Daily Show." Stewart's also short, dark (relative to CK) and handsome
in my book, at least. It's also a joke. They're both hetero as far as
I've heard, plus JS has a lovely wife.
Ooh, I think I finally got one. Jesse Metcalf, the gardner from
"Desperate Housewives".
I don't know how tall he is, but I know Eva Longoria is very short and
he doesn't seem to tower over her. "Moss" could be a clue to his
character being a gardener. I just checked IMDB and it has an actor
named Kyle Searles listed as playing John in the unaired pilot
episode. Also from tvtome.com:
"In this orignial pilot of Desperate Housewives the role of gardner
John was played by actor Kyle Searles. After the series was picked up
by ABC he was released from the role. "
I pulled up this guy on google and checked out his website. He's a
blond.

Imdb has Jesse Metcalf's height as 5'11". Kyle Searles' resume puts
him at 5'9 -1/2". Still, I like this answer. Hmmm... "common
ground" could refer being a gardener as well.
I hope you're right, Big - that's some great detective work you did!
Of course I could be wrong.
he was my first thought, too. good job digging up the "predecessor,"
Bigolhomo!! :)

he's 6'2", according to the IMDB.

That was my first guess too, Bigol'! We didn't call him Migayel for
nothing.

Carson Daly?
Jimmy Kimmel?
Adam Corolla?

So would the sentence: "Or finding some common ground?" Since his character
is a groundskeeper/gardener, the clue seems to fit.

if it was Kimmel, that would make the predecessor Bill Maher, and the
image verily makes me puuuuke.
Who's started a nighttime show recently? Kimmel is over two years old
now - who's really new?
Linda C.
Sounds good to me. That guy doesn't look like he's enjoying making out
with Eva as much as he should. ;-)
