American Music Award Nominees Announced

Usher leads the field with four nominations when nominees were announced in
Los Angeles Tuesday for the 32nd annual American Music Awards.
The 25-year-old singer was nominated for favorite Pop/Rock Male Singer and
his album, 'Confessions,' was nominated for favorite Pop/Rock Album. Usher
was also nominated for favorite Soul/R&B Male Singer, and 'Confessions' was
nominated for favorite Soul/R&B Album.
OutKast was nominated for favorite Band, Duo or Group in both the Pop/Rock
and Rap/Hip-Hop categories, on the strength of their Grammy-winning album
'Speakerboxxx/The Love Below,' which was also nominated for favorite
Rap/Hip-Hop album.
West was nominated for favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Male Artist and Album, for 'The
College Dropout.' He was also nominated for Favorite New Artist, along with
rock band Maroon 5 and country singer Gretchen Wilson.
Ten artists -- including Wilson, Sheryl Crow, Norah Jones, Jessica Simpson,
Prince and Alicia Keys -- had two nominations each. Kenney Chesney, Alan
Jackson, Toby Keith and Martina McBride each also had two nominations.
The awards will be presented Nov. 14 during ceremonies at the Shrine
Auditorium in Los Angeles, televised by ABC, with Jimmy Kimmel as host.

* Male Artist: Josh Groban, Lenny Kravitz, Michael McDonald, Usher.
* Female Artist: Sheryl Crow, Avril Lavigne, Jessica Simpson.
