I've gone through all the national races of 2008 and I can't find an
election where the Socialist candidate won.
Some employment sectors are in a growth phase and some of those are
among the most desirable. It is certainly hard to find a job, but the
job you do find is more likely to be worthy of a career than not.
People aren't doing the "hire all comers for the entry-level job and
watch for the one who shows promise."
Take "unemployment" as some simple thing that can be expressed as a
single number, if you want to. Reality is far more complicated than
that.
