MARIAH CAREY is now officially the most popular female artist in the
history of the American charts after scoring her 16th number one.
The singer's new tune WE BELONG TOGETHER has spent eight weeks crawling
up the BILLBOARD Hot 100 and now has toppled GWEN STEFANI's HOLLA BACK
GIRL as the fourth chart-topper of 2005.
We Belong Together is also Carey's biggest hit ever, and the most
successful single for her new record company DEF JAM.
Only the BEATLES (with 20 number ones) and ELVIS PRESLEY (with 18) can
boast more Billboard chart-toppers than Carey.

confirming that Americans are the most musically illiterate and stupid
retards on earth.
What about the Japanese? Ever heard some of the rot that's popular
there? It's nausea-inducing.
But I'll grant you that Mariah Carey is upchuck worthy, too.

Diana Ross has a total of 18 #1 Billboard hits, 12 with the Supremes
and 6 as a solo artist. Not all of Mariah's #1 hits were as a solo
artist. "One Sweet Day" was a duet with Boyz II Men.

How is this her biggest hit ever? "One Sweet Day" was #1 for 16 weeks,
"Fantasy" and "Dreamlover" were #1 for 8 weeks, "Vision of Love" and
"Hero" were #1 for 4 weeks.

and Diana Ross.
It has more airplay than any other single she's ever released, according to
radio impressions. It has over 180 million airplay impressions. The record
for most airplay impressions for a song is 214 million.

Only, the Beatles did it in 6 years. Mariah has been recording albums for 15 years. Now, if she had
20 #1 singles by 1996 (around the time of Fantasy), I would be impressed. If the Beatles did not
break up in 1970 (officially, but really in 1969) and stayed together until 1979, they would
probably had 50 #1s.
Keep trying Mariah but you can never beat the Fab 4, if only for time constraint reasons.
Tony
How about if you add in their solo #1 hits, how many #1's does that
total?
>She already had the most singles by a female since her 13th #1.
All fine and good but she will NEVER be in the same league as the Beatles or Elvis. She is a joke.
She was a great singer and I loved her first album, but she has gone steadily downhill from there.
She is so unlikable. Her voice is a combination of annoying, breathy whispers to shrieking, i can
sing 100 notes in 2 seconds annoying phrases.
