Pop pin-up AARON CARTER is planning to turn his back on his pop career to
become a marine biologist.

The blond singer, who turned 16 just before Christmas (03), is hoping to attend
college when he's 18, so he can learn all about his favourite passion.

He says, "I've been wanting to do that since I was about eight or nine. As soon
as I watched FREE WILLY, I was like, 'I gotta do this.'"

Carter is preparing for his stint as a biologist by helping to keep America's
beaches and the oceans clean - on his rare days off, the singer heads for the
beach to pick up litter.

He adds, "I want to be part of the ocean people helping out. That's why it kind
of upsets me when I see people throwing stuff in the ocean. Why do we have to
treat it so bad?"

No offense, but this has been a staple of Aaron Carter interviews for years.

Personally, I like that the kid realizes that there is more to life and is
planning for it.
