Vince Gill and Amy Grant gathered friends George Jones, Suzy Bogguss, T. Graham
Brown, Guy Clark, George Lindsey, and Nashville Predators Cliff Ronning, Tom
Fitzgerald, and Mike Dunham to paint pottery for an upcoming silent auction.
The one-of-a-kind pieces will be auctioned off at a private party on May 6, and
proceeds will benefit the Tennessee Junior Golf program.
Grant got infant daughter Corrina into the act by painting a heart-shaped plate
and adding the baby's footprints to the piece. Of course, Gill decided that he
would keep that for himself. Jones created a platter with the lyrics of "The
Race Is On," while Gill painted a bust of Elvis. Gill was in a little over his
head, however--it took him an hour just to paint the legend's black hair. Disco
diva Donna Summer was unable to attend the party because she was out of the
country, but before she left, she painted a large platter adorned with a bowl
of flowers and a peace sign. All of the items will be on display at the
Pairings Gala which kicks off the week-long Electrolux USA Championship and The
Vinny Pro/Celebrity golf tournament May 7-13 in Franklin, Tennessee.
