Gramps had a fighting chance until he got desperate and rolled the dice
on Palin.

Now he's closing up shop and sending the help home early.

Feeling desperate I see ...

Palin doesn't exist to make McCain more popular
with ultralibs. She exists to make him more popular
with theocons - bring in those dollars and votes he
was worried about losing. She HAS served that aim
quite nicely.

Sarah gave McCain's campaign new blood - popularity. What does o'boyee have to
offer?

Fuddie-duddiness ...

Which Obama actually needed to counteract
his inexperience/youth factors.

So, I'd say that BOTH of the VP picks have nicely
served their intended purposes. Give each campaign
a gold star.

The problem is that o'boyee should be the VP pick on the 'rat side. He has no
experience other than 143 days in Congress as a minor player.

That puts America in a precarious position.

McCain just pulled out of Michigan. I bet it would still be in play if he had

He's very smart, well-educated and a natural-born pol - so
I figure he can rise to the occasion.

But ONCE he's risen ... what kind of president will we have ?
A lot of hard, HARD left agendas ?

Well MY crystal ball sez "No". Didja get yours
from that loud TV guy who usually sells tile
cleaner and stuff ? There's your problem :-)

Of course we'll never know FOR SURE whether Michigan
would have been different with Mitt. However I note
that Palin seems well-received by the GOP (more with
individual voters than the party heirarchy). As such
I can't help but see her as a plus for McCain. She
wasn't selected to please ultralibs you know ... and
they were gonna vote Ocommiebama whether Mitt was
on the ticket or not.

That's very true.
Any hope of McCain getting new votes is long since gone.
She was selected simply to stop the hemhoraging of *existing* Republican
voters.

And how many Dems were gonna vote McCain in the

McCain did better in stopping that 'hemhorage'
than in trying to please voters who weren't
gonna be please.

By picking Palin, McCain showed that he lacked common sense. C'mon, the guy put
party over country, independents and and open-minded repugs aren't going to be
impressed with a dilettante bimbo.

Perhaps "Michigan" should work on their problems instead
of waiting for some president to solve their problem.

I hope our country has not sunk to the levels
needed to elect someone like Obama.

By "hard, HARD left agendas" you meant FDR? Funny how those policies and

social unrest. Re-runs of the MacArthur strategy of the successful Battle
of the Ellipse coming to non-rethug political rallies at a public square

The 'rats are the ones that pushed and defended, up to 3 years ago, that there
was nothing wrong with fannie/freddie. It was the 'rats that instituted the
community reinvestment act which required unquestioned loans to minorities that
couldn't pay off. And it was 'rat willie that instituted the no-documentation
for said loans.

The 'rats are the ones that closed oil production from their blessed and
not-to-be-touched offshore and Alaska lands.

And it was the 'rat willie clinton that watched as 8 times the Islamic
terrorists bombed and killed American embassies and a war ship, and 8 times he
said we must find out who did this and take care of them, and 8 times he did
nothing.

And of course, it was 'rat willie that was getting blow jobs in the white house
instead of protecting the US from the multiyear planning taking place in the US
for 911.

No ... he showed that he can add two plus two.

The math said there were more votes to be gained by
pleasing the theocon faction than by wooing the
libcons.

Good point - most voters would not be pleased with McCain no matter WHAT

That would be the same math that has him losing in every major poll, and
most minor ones?

So after 3 years ago they stopped. McSame and Bush have defended them
up to 3 months ago.

Defended what? The Republic_ans have been screaming "major trouble coming". The
shameful queer barney frank blocked any effort to correct it in 2002, and with
the 'rats now in charge, blocked any effort to correct it in 2005 and later.

Why do you think that's Palins fault ? I think
the problem is McCain himself. He doesn't come
across as well as Obama plus seems "too old"
at times ... not to mention that he's never met
a lobbyist he hasn't wanted to bend over and
spread 'em for.

Techically, as bas a choice for president as Obama,
just for a different set of reasons. Palin ? Biden ?
Peripherial for the most part.
