I have to say Wynonna's voice blows me away. I get the jitters every
time I listen to Kenny Rogers/Wynonna's version. I will listen hours on
end to that particular version. That's is my favorite Christmas song.
What's yours?

It's my second fave.
I'm not a country music lover in the least, but LOVE Kathy Mattea's
version.
Third...and I'm not kidding here..is Donny Osmond's rendition. Very
sweet.

I had never heard it at all until Clay Aiken did it a couple of years
ago. Now I love it.

I agree...Kathy Mattea's version is fantastic! And Donny Osmond's is
very good. Do not like Kenny Rogers, except his early stuff.

I think, think Vanessa Williams did a version of it. The first time I
heard it I pulled my car over to hear the whole song it was so
beautiful. Amazing.

I'm surprised I'm apparently the only person (among those who've
bothered to check the thread, anyway) who gags at Mary Did You Know. I
assumed since I first heard it that it would be widely despised,
although it's obviously popular with some.

But you just took away my supposed reason for loathing Mary Did You
Know (way too sentimental), because you reminded me that I love Do You
Hear What I Hear, and you can't get much more sentimental than that.
Well, I guess The Drummer Boy is more sentimental than both, and I kind
of like it, too, in an embarrassed way.

I think Andy Williams sung the Do You Hear What I Hear that I grew up
with. It was on a Firestone album I believe!

And so from now on I guess my hatred for Mary Did You Know will have to
go unexplained.

Eliza (favorite Christmas song: O Holy Night. Not sure what version;
they're an awful lot of great ones out there.)

O Holy Night is probably the most beautiful of all Christmas songs...I
agree with you there.
