NBC is joining forces with an online auction company to sell "limited
edition" prints and drawings from the hit series, just like the ones
created on the show by the drug-addicted painter, Isaac Mendez
(Santiago Cabrera), that predict the future.
Two on-line auctions of four pieces each are planned for March 26
(starting at 6 p.m. and running to midnight on March 28) and April 2,
also starting at 6 p.m. and ending two days later, the network
announced yesterday.
The auctions will be held on NBC.com and managed by San Francisco-
based Delivery Agent Inc., a firm that manages on-line auctions for TV
networks, including the on-line sales of outfits created on "Project
Runway."
More information on the auctions can be found on the "Heroes" home
page on the NBC Web site.
The pieces up for sale are not the original props used on the show.
"Each week's auction will feature two full-size autographed limited
edition prints and drawings of artwork used in the show," NBC said.
The pieces will be very familiar to "Heroes" fans because they depict
key incidents in the show's first-season storyline: "Exploding Man,"
"Eclipse," "Claire on the Stairs" and "Hiro and T-Rex." Each piece
will be signed by the real-life comic artist who created them, Tim
Sale.
Proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Landover, Md.-based
Epilepsy Foundation on behalf of actor Greg Grunberg, who plays the
telepathic cop, Matt Parkman, on "Heroes" and whose son, Jake, has
epilepsy. PHOTO: http://www.nypost.com/seven/03092007/photos/tv123.jpg
