She is such a pathetic amateur she didn't even bother to learn the
words to the song she was singing at the Kennedy Center... Loser!

Simpson In Tears After Tribute

REUTERS/Joshua Roberts (UNITED STATES)

Jessica Simpson burst into tears Sunday night after forgetting the
words to the Dolly Parton song she was performing during the Kennedy
Center Honors event.

Two years after sister Ashlee's lip-syncing debacle on "Saturday Night
Live" hit the headlines, Jessica Simpson showed that live mishaps run
in the family.

Performing a cover of Parton's "Nine to Five" hit with "American Idol"
star Carrie Underwood at Sunday's bash in Washington D.C., Simpson
stumbled over the song lyrics.

She relied heavily on cue cards to sing the song and missed a few
lines. She then abruptly ended her performance saying, "Dolly, you make
me so nervous I can't even sing the words right."

Her efforts were met with little applause, prompting embarrassed
Simpson to dash off stage, reportedly in tears.

She appeared to be crying when she and others involved in the tribute
show returned to the stage.

And what a horrible choice for a tribute song.

I'd like to know who's the idiot that scheduled her. It seemed up until
now that the Kennedy Centre had some class.

Agree. She can't sing at the best of times. She always does this weird
contortionist thing. Looks like she's having a seizure.

yOu know this girl needs to give it up, she is falling all over herself
these days. Go get a job at McDonalds and see how the real world lives
THEN come back and commit yourself to your career. I thought she would
be so happy once divorced but she apparently is nothing without Nick LOL

The only thing I can think of is both her and Dolly have Southern
roots. Other than that - she doesn't deserve to be in the same room
with Parton, afaic.

She botched it pretty good.

They are now saying that she was flustered because her dress was about
to fall off - se her arm across her belly the whole time. That's 3
excuses so far. What's the going record on multiple excuses for a
single entertainment disaster?

well, i like jessica simpson.
i think she is a nice girl with a good personality and a good
attitude.
i can do without her music - but she, like britney spears, should have
been singing country music from the beginning.
she was honoring miss parton because she plays a southern, "dumb"
blonde.
i'm sure miss parton was happy to hear from her.
i don't know why y'all are so evil about her.

except in "9 to 5" and in her first single, "dumb blonde".
remember, it's "dumb", in quotes.

that would be an insult to Dolly Parton, who has written thousands of
songs, several of them very famous, and is a legend in the musical circles
of Nashville, for musical and professional reasons. Dolly Parton is no dumb
blonde, nor has she ever stopped so low as to portray one.

Which is probably different from you personally, in every conceivable way.
Including not dressing up like a dumb blonde.

I dont feel sorry for any of these people. They are completely disposable
in every way. 15 minutes is way too long for some of these retards.

they are silver-spoon fed a life of luxury and then crack under the
pressure of attempting to justify it, by showing some sort of marketable
skill or talent, which they have none of. Justice is served.

Dolly did not play "dumb" in "9 To 5". She was as smart as hell in
that movie - just because she had a southern accent did not make her
dumb. She was much smarter than her boss played by Dabney Coleman.

I have always admired her - Dolly is one smart lady, and has had a very
successful career for decades.

Jessica Simpson is not in Dolly's league, and never will be.

Jessica seems to be floundering, not knowing which way her career
should head. I think her dad thought that we loved HER - we actually
loved Nick and Jessica together.

dolly parton portrayed a country, "dumb" blonde in "9 to 5" - not a
dumb blonde.
dumb like a fox, ok?
a character *perceived* as dumb.
musical talent aside, miss simpson has portrayed a similar archetype,
as "daisy duke", etc.
this superficial similarity is clearly the reason she was chosen to
honor miss parton.
you all are fake for pretending not to see this and overly
argumentative for telling me i'm wrong for pointing it out.
miss parton herself is on record as appreciating miss simpson and says
she hopes to work with her.
don't be fake - be classy like dolly parton!

I think her father genuinely abused her, in a sexual way, and even when

all chosen for her by Daddy, and every selection reinforced the idea

When you're getting rich and famous, and everyone's telling you how
wonderful you are, it might be possible to convince yourself that dad is
right when he tells you how to act and what to be. But what about when
all the money and fame starts turning on you? What are you left with

from a man you still love, income drying up, and people openly mocking

FWIW, I'm no prude. I come from a family that's comfortable with nudity
and talking about sex. I come from a family that expresses it's love
physically, with lots of hugs and kisses. I have zero sexual father
issues. When we were kids, my parents took in foster kids, many of whom
suffered different kinds of abuse (which was why they ended up at our
house in the first place). So that's where I'm coming from when I talk
about this. When pretty much anyone in my family flips through

Just Not Right in the Simpson family. If anything, I feel genuinely
sorry for her.
