Shame on MadTV. Dane Cook is funnier than that whole cast put together.
SUPER FINGER BABY!
He's the Brett Meisner of comedy, ain't he?
Ever hear of the first amendment?
Not really. You can actually find examples of Cook's work.
They are equally funny, however.
I kinda figure all of Brett's work is available online.
True. The entire catalog of his work is right there on his website.
It's pretty convenient, when you think about it.
I actually find MadTV's portrayal of Dane funnier than Dane himself - just
as MadTV portrays, Dane is not funny.

Dane Cook is a comedian wanna-be.

It is simply breathtaking to watch the glee and abandon with which
the liberal media and the Angry Left have been attempting to turn
our military victory in Iraq into a second Vietnam quagmire. Too bad
for them, it's failing.
More like the Richard Clayderman of comedy?

Dane cook (like him or not) is one of the biggest comedians today. He
sells out arenas while most cant sell out clubs. That doesn't make him
better, he just just more popular.
Dane IS funny, but as I heard, he steals material from Lewis CK.

This is a joke, right? This is a post from someone who is trying to
get a rise out of intelligent people who can't stand Dane Cook and
understand how unfunny he is.
Don't bite. Next.
Dance Cook is a talentless jerk that should be grateful for any
attention thrown his way

Exactly! It's like people that Weird Al parodies..you haven't made it
until...
Dane Cook is more irritating than anything...kinda like the Weird Al Polka
song.

Artie may have his moments. I've only seen one of his stand up shows.
He did some comedy and then has a therapy session on stage or
something like that. I was less than entertained. I saw him that thing
during the world series. Horrible. I remember him from Old School. Not
a bad performance but considering the size of the role, that's not
saying much. He seems to me to be a hack John Belushi with him
appearance and his gravelly voice.

Robert Kelly. Or Bob Kelly as he is called on his frequent appearances
on the O&A show.
Did they show him as straight, you shill?

He's pretty golden on the Howards Stern Show. I think Dane Cook would
suck on Howard Stern's crew.

The few times I have heard him on stern's show are what reminded me of
the hack John Belushi. He does an AWEFUL dice imitation. His voice
takes away from what might be considered funny. I know there are a
number of people who find him funny. I am not one of them. I'd
actually rather listen to Dane Cook past the 15 minute mark that I
can't seem to get past.
John Belushi was a hack? I disagree vehemently.

Dane Cook's funny. Don't let anyone tell you different. Artie's funny
too but he's a diffent vibe than Dane. Dane wouldn't mesh with Howard's
show at all. Too many jokes. Artie's got more of a.....real component to
him. He's got problems, he made bad choices, he talks about his life.
You won't see Dane open up like that.

Sorry...it should have read that Artie reminds me of a hack John
Belushi, as it does 12 lines above.

I agree that Dane would not be funny on howard's show. I don't find
either Dane or Artie entertaining.
And Vince ... don't forget to mention ... you're dumb ... look at
yourself ... a fucking 45 year old DUMB GUY! That is
puh-fucking-thetic dude! Kill yourself already. I mean you are dumb.
And worse yet ... an OPINIONATED dumb guy. The worst kind. VINCE!
OVER HERE!! YOU'RE DUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMB.
dumb
vinny you're dumb
This is abbreviated VYD
VYD!
You.
Vinny.
dumb.
Dane's album sold more than Steve Martin's, so the proof is in the
pudding. Out of an hour, he might be worth 5 minutes chuckling.
People like Survivor and reality television too. It's useless to wade
against it.
And maybe there can be a discussion in which Bozo and Vince *don't*
attack each other like pre-menstruating school-girls.
Big, huge world of comedy out there.

As funny as Carlin. Believe it. Stop hatin'.

Sigh. I miss Richard Pryor, Bill Hicks, Red Foxx and Flip Wilson.
What is with this "stop hating" crap?
Stupid people who don't read books, have rap ringtones on their cell
phones and watch "American Idol" think he's funny.
Exactly.
The skit, like most Mad TV skits I've had the misfortune of watching,
seems rushed. It relies on the same gag for laughs, Dane's alleged
physicality being the punchline [quite ironically, it is revealing
itself to be exactly what it claims Dane to be, repetitive and cheap].
It does reference Dane's propensity for hyperbolic generalizations,
but the skit is incredibly inarticulate in this regard. They do
accurately parody one of Dane's bits, but the parody is based on the
setting and the actual content, as opposed to parodying the unique Dane
Cook formula for laughter. It falls flat because of this.
Also, they completely fail to mock one of Dane's most tired tendencies,
where he will either abbreviate or turn a word into an acronym.
All in all, Mad TV barely manages to even make fun of Cook. The best
part of the skit is that the actor is great with his facial expressions
and looks similar to him. Nonetheless, the writing is weak, and like
almost every MadTv skit ever, mediocre.
