I think you will find that the real world doesn't give a shit what she
engages in. She'll never be happy because of her mental illness.

Incorrect. She's very popular in the real world. If ever you visit
us here, you'll see that.

DeGeneres displays no sign of any kind of mental illness.

Not necessarily but when the wedding looks like a publicity stunt tied into
the court decision I don't hold out much hope for the marriage. Pretty soon

Is it because she's famous that you're calling this a "publicity
stunt"? She and de Rossi have been together for four years. In her
announcement, she said they'd wanted to make it legal. Now that it IS
legal, and they're getting married, how does that equate to their
wedding being merely a "publicity stunt"?

What it means is that calling her "Ellen DeGenerate" is so hilarious
that even a fourth-grader could think it up.

I was not aware that Ellen had been dating her for four years (thank
GAWD we were spared THAT!), but the fact that she "spontaneously"
decided to make a huge announcement on her show now instead of quietly
getting hitched in Vermont (or is it Massachusetts?) speaks volumes.

The way I heard it, at the so-called "Last Supper" he tells them to
"Eat me".

Haw! The Jeebus, what a joker. Hey, gays....EAT ME! HAW HAW HAW!!

Gays are so funny. But you have to be careful around them. They're always
trying to get "more rights", like legalized marriage and the right to
follow me into a public restroom and stare at my buttocks and fondle my
private parts while I'm urinating. They want to kidnap young boys and
perform unnatural and unholy acts upon their innocent bodies. They want to
sidle up to straight people at bars, with their gaudy scarves and paisley
bell-bottoms and their Flock Of Seagulls hair, and intercede in our
conversations with beautiful straight women and try to convince us that
it's not only their right but their gosh-darned *mission* to come back to
my apartment and toss me rear-end-up over the hassock and pump me up the
ass until I scream "MICKEY MOUSE! MICKEY MOUSE!!" Then they want to slap
me across the face and spit on me and leave me there in a disheveled mess,
crying and bleeding and totally humiliated. That's what gay people--wait a
minute. Did I say gay people? I meant Mormons.

Excuse me, I'm sorry, wrong newsgroup.

Well recently i got into Arrested development, never watched it for a
moment when it was on and then started watching it free on hulu.com
What a great show and I have to say I love Portia's acting. she
captured that role so perfectly. As for ellen, compared to Rosy,
Ellen is a gentleman and I like her. She doesn't smack you with her
lesboism like rosy does. For that even though I'm very much against
gays co-opting a sacred institution I wish both of them well.

Well my love, if you were just a tad more in touch with reality you
would know that Massachusetts, the only other state which allows same
sex marriage, has restrictions on who may marry. Massachusetts does
not have a residency requirement for marriage, BUT one old, local law
– dating from 1913 – says that non-residents may not marry in
Massachusetts if their marriage would be expressly prohibited if
contracted in their home state. On March 30, 2006, the Supreme
Judicial Court (SJC) of Massachusetts issued a decision in this case
clarifying the criteria that must be met for determining which non-
residents can marry in Massachusetts.

Subsequently, a Massachusetts trial court judge, interpreting the
SJC’s decision, determined that Rhode Island same-sex couples are able
to marry in Massachusetts, without having to express an intent to
reside in Massachusetts. In July 2007, the Massachusetts Department of
Public Health determined that New Mexico same-sex couples are also
entitled to marry in Massachusetts. I seem to recall someone recently
got the court in New York to agree that a marriage ceremony in
Massachusetts would be valid for a New York resident.

If you reside in a state other than Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New
Mexico or possibly New York, the only way you may marry in
Massachusetts is if you express an intent to relocate to Massachusetts
after the marriage. So it speaks volumes that you condemn a person for
not doing something she is prohibited from doing by the law.

And why should she not make a public announcement that she intends to
marry? Most people do although most may not be as well known as she
is.

Maybe not Ellen, but I sure remember that Anne Heche incident right
after their breakup. Anne walked into this couple's house and started
babbling all this nonsense to them, they had no idea who she was. Her

You should READ your cites....

"Singh was the only one without a date, and was hugging and dancing
with other men.
"In the hours preceding the attack, a group described as
Russian-speaking hurled explicit gay slurs and racial remarks at Singh
and his party, according to witnesses and sheriff's officials. When
Singh and his friends tried to leave around 8 p.m., they were
confronted by the Slavic group and a fight ensued, the witnesses said.
"Singh was punched -- once -- in the face. He fell backward and
cracked his head, rupturing a part of the brain stem that controls
most of life's functions. He died four days later."

Sounds like a basic fist-fight that had an unfortunate accidental
ending...

Perhaps the "hugging and dancing with other men" IN PUBLIC isn't such

Which is one of the two primary meanings of the word. The more
common one, in fact.

Words are not required to have meanings which are equal to, or
limited to, the sum of the meanings of their components. (If they
were, pineapples would grow on evergreen trees.)

Fags don't have the right to Marriage.

Marriage belongs to heterosexual men & women.

They DO have the right to the same rights and privileges provided by
"Marriage" so long as they call it something other than Marriage.

Freedom isn't free. All freedom comes with responsibility.

You wanna frolic around "hugging and dancing with other men" IN PUBLIC
then accept responsibility for what your actions may provoke.

Because of the use of the word "Marriage." A lot of Americans, a

to fags using the 'M' word.

Try double-checking that. Lots of things in the Bible are some guy

If a person was provoked by it then IT was a provocation... Duh.

Your argument is that his actions SHOULD NOT have provoked anyone.

Your argument is a FANTASY. Welcome to the REAL WORLD where MOST
people DO NOT LIKE fags.

It doesn't matter if that's right or wrong, good or bad, what matters
is that that's THE REAL WORLD.

The responsibility ALSO include being responsible for YOUR OWN
ACTIONS.

The dead fag FAILED to perform real-world responsibility for his own
actions. That doesn't let the other guy off the hook. He's still
gonna get a legal spanking for assault.

But the bottom line is the dead fag would NOT be dead if he'd done his

An attempt at a tautology is not an argument. If someone wore a green
shirt and some nut attacked him for, you can't exactly call wearing
the green shirt a provocation, no matter what someone tries to claim
to avoid going to jail.

While your "most people do not like [gays]" is probably a lie (most

From the same dictionary:

contempt (n.)

1. The feeling or attitude of regarding someone or something as
inferior, base, or worthless; scorn.
[Middle English, from Latin contemptus, past participle of contemnere,
to despise. See contemn.]

And from Roget's II:
contempt

1. The feeling of despising: despisal, despite, disdain, scorn. See

Its just a fact, if a person was provoked by it then IT was a
provocation.

That doesn't make it legal. But it is a fact.

The court will ALWAYS consider ANY provocation even if that
consideration is limited to politely listening to something utterly
stupid.

Gallup Poll. May 8-11, 2008. "Do you think marriages between same-sex
couples should or should not be recognized by the law as valid, with
the same rights as traditional marriages?"
Should: 40%
Should Not: 56%
I'm Stupid: 4%

As of TWO WEEKS AGO most (56%) certainly DO CARE.

But this case isn't about civil rights.

>> It doesn't matter if that's right or wrong, good or bad, what matters

Sometimes they do. More often a majority does.

But both of those facts are irrelevant.

The "real world" is ALWAYS pre-defined the moment you walk out of your
door. You walk INTO that "real world" and the degree to which it is
fair or unfair is irrelevant.

Based on the article which references the multiple eyewitness

charged with something like involuntary manslaughter, 3rd-degree
murder maybe.

Nope - the death was the direct consequence of a crime. You do know,
don't you, that you can be charged with murder if someone is killed
while you are comitting a felony, even if you had no intention of
killing anyone?

The only question in this case is whether it is a case of murder

Wrong. You have to use the legal definition, which is:

4. (Law) Such prior insult or injury as may be supposed,
under the circumstances, to create hot blood, and to
excuse an assault made in retort or redress.
[1913 Webster]

You made up the numbers (Gallop does not use your "Stupid" category)
and those numbers are irrelevant. You are trying to confuse views
on marriage with views on gays. Some people think civil unions are
adequate, for example.

You took data about marriage and tried to turn that into an
opinion about gays. Total BS on your part.

In the "real world", if you go around killing people you don't like,
you end up in prison.

So what?

What part of "or" don't you understand?

About 38 States disagree with you.

Yes.

What you've learned from TV Crime Drama shows IS NOT the real world.

If you haven't figured out a way for them to put an unidentified
person on trial then I rather think there are MORE questions than
that.

There is even THIS (remote) possibility:

Fag-Puncher: Sir, please refrain from dancing with and hugging other
men in the presence of children.
Fag: I have a gun in my pocket and you have one second to disappear.

As I said, what you've learned from TV Crime Drama shows IS NOT the
real world.

Besides, why should they get to be happy while we suffer. Let 'em get
married.

You said: "You have to use the legal definition" THEN you quoted a
DICTIONARY instead of a LAW SOURCE.

No. I made up a Category Name, the 4% is accurate.

You could have verified that by using the URL I provided (that you
deleted).

>and those numbers are irrelevant. You are trying to confuse views

You said: "most people don't care."

I proved that you're WRONG because most people DO CARE enough to take
a Survey and express a SPECIFIC opinion OTHER THAN the 4%.

In the "real world", if you go around insulting people your chances of
getting killed increase significantly.

In the "real world", if you go around unwilling or unable to defend
yourself your chances of getting killed increase significantly.

In the "real world", if you go around unwilling or unable to take
responsibility for your actions your chances of getting killed
increase significantly.

So if you can't identify who the alleged criminal would have punched
out had the fag NOT BEEN THERE you are forced to conclude that the fag
being was the precursor to the event.
