I'm new to the world of gopher, I think it's an unbelievely great
resource, especially the bookmark ideas (which I think need to be
expanded in future additions of the client/server packages to
accomodate menu structures, maybe even Unix shell commands so people
could reach 'elm' or 'nn', for example, from within gopher...maybe
even a sort of multitasking setup similar to the popular 'screen'
program to allow multiple gopher activities at once). Yet this
problem I'm having with mysteriously missing bookmarks really bothers
me. I have been unable to find any documentation on this via ftp...

There will be work by a group centered around the National Capital
Freenet here in Ottawa that will be attempting to do things like this.
Some sort of method of saying 'The user wants to go into mail now',
and 'pop up the news client in the newsgroup blah.blah.blah'.
There is also other client utilities such as a file directory
manipulator, online chat (IRC style?) and other such stuff that we'll want
to have an easy way to make 'seem' integrated into the menu structure
(That will be ran through Gopher).
If anyone has some suggestions, or is willing to listen to ideas as
we discuss them, please let me know.
