Of course, it was, and is, a con job.
There is no confusion among mainstream
scientists at all now, global warming is
man-made and very serious. --Roger

WASHINGTON, March 26, 2006 - American attitudes about global warming
are shifting, according to a new poll by ABC News, Time magazine and
Stanford University - but it has taken years for the public
perception of the problem to catch up with the warnings.

That lack of concern may have been just what big oil wanted.

It's not as if the information hasn't been out there: A new ad by the
Environmental Defense Fund warns time is running out to combat climate
change, adding, "Our future is up to you."

But Virginia's top climatologist doesn't buy it.

"The American people have just been bludgeoned with climate disaster
stories for God knows how long," said the climatologist, Pat Michaels,
"and they're just, they've got disaster fatigue."

Pat Michaels is one of a handful of skeptics still downplaying the
danger. But they are a tiny minority.

The vast majority of scientists have determined global warming to be a
real threat. So why has it taken so long to convince Americans?

Misinformation Campaign
Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Ross Gelbspan blames a 15-year
misinformation campaign by the oil and coal industries.

"The point of this campaign was not necessarily to persuade the public
that global warming isn't happening," Gelbspan said. "It was to
persuade the public that there is this state of confusion."

A 1998 memo by the American Petroleum Institute said, "Victory will be
achieved when ... average citizens recognize uncertainties in climate
science."

To redefine global warming as theory - not fact - the industry
funded research by "friendly" scientists such as Michaels.

One big reason for our trade deficit is the much less tougher
environmental regulations abroad, e.g. in China's backyard.
What are you guys hoping to achieve with the Global Warming message?
Even tougher regulations? While Made In China products keep flooding
our marked, produced with environmental hazards we can only dream of?

And the high oil prices right now are driving everybody away from
fossil fuels anyway. If the oil use isn't going down as much, it's just
because we CAN'T stop, unless U.S. gives up it's way of life, no longer
lives in suburbs etc.

The AGW people have come to the table to try to hammer out protocols that
would address both AGW and the economy. The people only concerned about the
economy (as if global warming wasn't going to impact the economy) have yet
to come to the table.

Where did he claim to have won a Pullitzer? None of your hatchet-job links
say that. On the other hand, the principle mouthpiece on Fox News for the
wacky ideas of the loony right, Bill O'Reilly, did repeatedly claim to have
won a Peabody, even after it was pointed out to him that he didn't. Now
THAT'S a liar.

No where is it stated that he claimed he won a Pullitzer, and when asked,
he claimed he hadn't.

It's nothing but a poor attempt by Coal and Oil industry shills, who have
fund those websites, to slander and smear the man.

Typical Repubicans.

Big deal, he hasn't claimed to have won a Pulitzer and when asked he
claimed he hadn't.

It's nothing but a poor attempt at character assassination.

And it is. Certainly far cheaper than the 200 billion scheduled for

For 200 billion you could build tens of thousands of wind generators or
even 10 to 20 nuclear generating stations.

James, didn't you argue for years that the Montreal Protocol reducing the
release of CFC's was going to destroy the U.S. economy and cost the world
100 trillion dollars, and cause the death of 1/4 of the worlds population?

If you didn't, then your brother whacko's did.

If your life is short due to illness you have a chance to bring some
meaning to it in it's ending.

If your just old, then the same applies.

If you aren't motivated then you have implied through lack of action that
they will not be punished.

But I offer my services as public executioner should you people ever grow
some balls, and convict your countrymen with crimes against humanity.

BRIAN CARNELL is behind Skepticist.conjob website. Let's see what
google knows about Conman Carnell...

The ORGANIZED CRIME ring run by the OILMEN Killer Koch Brothers at CATO

So there you see: a well-financed ORGANIZED CRIME RING orchestrated by
Killer Koch Brothers, involving three paid hacks each operating
seperate websites to look "independent" is involved in FELONY FRAUD to
deceive the public about Global Warming for the profits in the pockets
of OILMEN Koch.

Brother David Koch once ran for vice president on the Libertarian
party, a wholly-owned subsidiary of ORGANIZED CRIME. Lots of dupes send
their votes and $10 membership fees to billionaires who use hundred
dollar bills for toilet paper.

JAMES is not a DUPE. He has been told all this before and he has had
LEGAL NOTICE invoking a MANDATORY DUTY to investigate as any person of
average intelligence would do in DUE DILIGENCE to avoid involvement in
crimes through ignorant manipulation. JAMES commits deliberate,
willful, premeditated crimes of deception and fraud.
