Pressed to admit that climate change can be attributed to man's
activity, she admits that man's activity can be attributed to climate
change!
"Math is hard." -- Talking Barbie (tm)
But Charles Gibson and Tapper (the guy that wrote the web page I
posted, both of ABC, ignored what she actually said.
"Never listen to women" --- Talking Ken
Well, you know, ABC is the network that aired the lie-filled "The Path to
9/11."
What she said when?
"She has told the Internet news site Newsmax, "A changing environment
will affect Alaska more than any other state, because of our
location.... I'm not one, though, who would attribute it to being man-
made."In an interview with a Fairbanks newspaper within the last year,
Palin said: "I'm not an Al Gore, doom-and-gloom environmentalist
blaming the changes in our climate on human activity." ABC cited the
interview as being at odds with her statement."
What she said on ABC last week.
In the ABC interview, all she said was:
"man's activities certainly can be contributing to the issue of global
warming"
all that does is acknowledge the theoretical possibility.
And she said:
"man's activities can be attributed to changes"
that's just garbled syntax.
So, I don't think she said anything that would give the denier base in
the Republican Party heartburn.
Yet she gave both Charlie Gibson and Jake Tapper the impression that
she changed her position.
Gibson said: "now you’re beginning to say it is man-made"
And Tapper claimed she flip-flopped.
Win-win for Palin, I my opinion. No loss of the base and no loss of
the swing vote.
You mean 'contributed' in your title not 'attributed'.
It's a quote, it has to say what the person in question said.
Look at what Palin said in the transcript in the OP:
It's right out of the transcript. Here, I will cut and paste it again
for you:
You didnt put it in quotes in your title.
The title is not an exact quote. Anyway "contributed" would change
the meaning. Or, it would infer a meaning base on garbled syntax.
But it seems problematic to infer a meaning that contradicts her plain
ungarbled denier statement of Aug 29:
So you think changes caused mans activity?
Yep, and I think its a good thing for the most part.
She has clarified her remarks on this important issue. She says that
climate change is not the sole cause of all of man's activities:
"I’m not going to solely blame all of man’s activities on changes in
climate."
