The question was and is rational, you just do not like the answer, which is none. Thus if the entire arctic ice cap were to melt, sea level rises by exactly nothing. The idiots predicting doom clearly do not know this.

PS. Thanks for the input, your refusal to answer the question is just as important as the lie would have been.

You do realize, don't you, Jim, that a significant part of the arctic
ice cap sits atop land?

Your sentence that I have quoted above is yet another example of your
simplistic second-grade flat-out wrong thinking.

You are wrong, again, Jimmy-boy. But being as big a dumb fuck as you

Well, Jim, I'm not sure where to go with this one. The fact is that
you have amply demonstrated that you don't know what a rational
question is, even when one rears up and sinks its teeth into your ass.

I guess it's because of your lack of cognitive skills and general

You think this is a trick question, but you've overlooked one thing:

Ice is more reflective than water. So water absorbs more IR energy
than ice, and that absorbed energy heats the water up, and as water
heats up, it expands.

And as the ice melts, trapped gasses escape to the atmosphere, reducing the volume, not to mention that water expands as it freezes in the first place, thus when it melts it will take up less volume. However we can test your theory this Summer when Al Gore has foretold that there will be no ice in the arctic.

Do tell us professor, how much does a cubic meter of water expand between say 20F and 40F, noting that it will decrease in volume when it hits 33F.

Next college idiot please.

An interesting thing about dumb fucks is their delusion that they
aren't. Quite a few papers 'out there' on this very subject.

From your post above:
" Thus if the entire arctic ice cap were to melt, sea level rises by
exactly nothing"
Are you truly this stupid; to write contradictory statements, back-to-

No. Trapped gases are interspersed among the water molecules. They
don't raise the volume any more than dissolving sugar in coffee raises
the volume.

> not to mention that water expands as it freezes in the first place, thus when it melts it will take up less volume. However we can test your theory this Summer when Al Gore has foretold that there will be no ice in the arctic.

Max density and lowest volume is at 4 C.

http://www2.volstate.edu/CHEM/Density_of_Water.htm

Check out the density. From 0 C to 4 C, change of 0.000132 g/mL.
From 4 C to 10 C, 0.000273 g/mL. From 4 C to 20 C, 0.01770 g/mL
change.

Floating ice has little or no effect on water level when it
melts.

The real danger is when the ice on Greenland and/or Antarctica
melts.

Actually schro you are wrong once again, as sea ice heaves with tides and currents, creating large ridges, and much air dispersed within. When these melt they go perfectly flat. That said you never answered the question, how much does a cubic meter of water expand, when the temp increases from 20F to 40F, noting that it will decrease in volume when it hits 33F.

Should be a simple question for a college professor like you.... Come on, do the math, then extrapolate this to the oceans, remembering that the entire thing is your hypothetical fantasy.

lets see .. I saw that 97% of the earth's water is in the ocean and 1.7% is in glaciers. So it's not clear how much it could rise, but it seems like it may be less than the alarmists claim. Other than that the sea level has risen less than 10 inches in the last 100 years and the rate of increase has been fairly constant.

Those eskimo villages seem to be on barrier islands and other places effected by the ocean seem due to coastal errosion rather than rising sea levels. Those pacific islands seem to be sinking rather than the sea rising. This seems elementary if the sea level has risen something like 2 inches in the last 30 years.

The real point is that sea level has been rising due to glacial melt, since the height of the last glacial maximum, some 20,000 years ago. This is when all of Canada and one third of the USA was under glacier, none of this melt, was or is due to human activity, and there is no evidence that it is......
