Snow set to spread to much of UK
Heavy snow and icy roads are causing chaos across most of the UK,
where Met Office severe weather warnings are in place as the "deep
freeze" continues.
Hundreds of schools across Britain are shut, while Leeds/Bradford,
Liverpool and Manchester airports are closed and many rail services
delayed.
Snow fell overnight in Scotland - where temperatures were -15C (5F) in
places - in north Wales and northern England.
Up to 10cm (4in) is expected to fall as the snow moves south during
Tuesday.
On Monday the National Grid issued a gas balancing alert (GBA) for
only the second time, asking power suppliers to use less gas as more
was sourced overseas.
Extra gas - including supplies from Belgium and Norway - was necessary
to meet rising demand after a 30% rise on normal seasonal use during
the cold snap.
Commuter delays
Commuters faced major delays during Tuesday's rush hour, with a series
of accidents causing jams on major routes including the M1, M5, M6 and
M42 in the Midlands.
Train operators including Virgin Trains and East Coast - which link
London and Scotland - Arriva Trains Wales, Cross Country, First
TransPennine Express, Northern and Scotrail were all reporting
disruption.

mean nothing to those who believe in global warming. Funny how when we

'weather'. When we have a hot summer and very mild winter - that is
'climate' and 'global warming'. When we have cold wet summers and freezing
winters - that is just 'weather'. Now pay attention at the back!

change how you like and you can define climate change how you like.
So has it changed since the MWP in the northern hemisphere? Probably
not. Has it changed since the LIA? Yes, its warmer.
Has it changed in the last 10,000 years? Yes, its a lot colder.
And you want to put an arbitrary tax on a natural product which is
vital to plant growth based on a 20 year warming trend?

bringing extra in by ship may be difficult.
Here, even with good pipelines the utility
company buys gas all summer and pumps it
into natural underground caverns, that not
only assures a more dependable supply, but
also helps get a better price.
On my last bill the gas was less than
a dollar per CCF.

into the Atlantic from all the melting ice has "shut off" the Gulf
