I'm looking forward to visiting in a couple of weeks. I had to book
the flight and hotels separately because for some reason there was no
availability as a package deal. This means I have to make my own way
from the air port to the hotel. How much is a taxi likely to cost and
what are the rules about tipping over there; what would they expect me
to pay on top?
Thanks.
Which hotel? But the answer is under a fiver including
say a quid as a tip.

If travelling with hand luggage only, walking is a real possibility!
Can't say that about many airports!

Ah but you live a lot closer than me. However the bus
is every 15 mins and waits opposite the terminal, it
might be good for the Rock Hotel and Queens and Bristol
but for the others a taxi might be better and easier for
someone with luggage who does not know Gib.
Sorry, I should have made it clearer, I guess there was some confusion
over Rock of Gibraltar and Rock Hotel. I'm going to the Rock hotel.
Then you are in luck.
Take the #3 bus from the bus stop opposite the aeroport and get off at
the bus stop outside (pretty much) the Rock Hotel. Its sixty pennies
one way.
Also, you easily walk from the hotel into the town centre (7mins...) and
to the cable car (even closer).
Have fun.
