I don't know what to use as a source and can use some advice please......

I found my family twice in the 1870 census.  First one was done on the 15th=
 of July and they were living in one Election District in the Bronx.   I al=
so found them from the census done on 17th of December that same year livin=
g in a different Election District in the same city.
It was very helpful though because it narrowed down their birth month and s=
ome member got jobs while others no longer worked.
