Name changes

My ancestors changed their surname from DAVIES to DAVIS after coming to the
U.S. In my genealogy records should I keep the DAVIES for those born in
Wales before the name change and DAVIS for those born here?

IMHO, I would list the names as they appear on the birth certificates; they are
the "true" names. You can always include a note indicating the date and/or
circumstances of the change.

Hi Pam.....I have the same thing that happened in my research
WOERTMAN became WORKMAN. I have kept it the "original" name and made
notations as to the name change

I have this same problem with some lines. What I have done is however that
person spelled their name is how it is spelled in my files.
