Is anyone else having difficulty reading Ancestry.com's census images? For
the last few days, the images start to load, then stop before finishing, and
eventually an error message appears.

I need to know if this problem is on their end, or with my computer! (I've
tried deleting my temporary internet files, but that didn't help.)

Thanks!

Just checked. They are working fine for me. (Am using the latest version
of Seamonkey, if that makes any difference...)

I had some trouble last night (progress bar does nothing, browser
bottom bar says "Done") which was cleared by reloading Internet
Exploder.

A lot depends on what time of day you are using it. It can sometimes
be a fluke that they may be doing webpage maintenance at the same time
you are looking for information. The glitches normally don't last for
more than 10-15 minutes. Try your search again and if you still can't
get results, post a message about the information/names you are
looking for so that someone else here can do the search for you and
post the results on this message board.

I finally did what I should've done when nothing else works: rebooted the
computer.

Everything seems to be fine, now, so either the problem at Ancestry.com was
resolved, or the difficulty was in my computer, and rebooting fixed it.

Thanks for everyone's responses, in any case!

What works for me is to close up Ancestry, and then open your web browser
and go into ancestry by typing the address www.ancestry.com in the address
bar. Do not go in using an icon or a bookmark.

For some reason, this works---a person on the Ancestry community board told
us about doing this.

Eventually the same thing might start to happen again. Just repeat the
steps above.

This has been happening to me for the last couple of months, and I
understand how maddening it is.

Good luck----

Firefox by Mozilla is the answer,
Also, check your security settings, and add the page as a safe
website.
Sounds like the security settings+web browser

I have had this problem also, and it drives me crazy. This has only
appeared in the last few months with me, at least.

This tip from someone else has helped me (but I use IE):

Go into your browser from scratch---do not click an ancestry icon.
Type in www.ancestry.com and go to the site.

From my experience, you may have to do this more than once during the time
you are doing your ancestry work.

I have experienced the same problem for several weeks and will try the
suggested correction.
