Dani,
There is a Charles Stieger in Idaho in the 1930 Federal Census. Below
is the basic information from the census entry, along with the citation
for the entry (if you ever need to find the entry again). The citation
shows that he was living in the town of Hillsdale, county of Ada, state
of Idaho:
Year: 1930; Census Place: Hillsdale, Ada, Idaho; Roll: 395; Page: 4B;
Enumeration District: 37
Stieger, Chas, 35, married first at age 30, farmer, born Switzerland,
parents born Switzerland, language spoken in home before coming to U.S.
- German, immigrated 1922, PA
Josephine, wife, 29, married first at age 23, born Switzerland, parents
born Switzerland, language spoken in home before coming to U.S. -
German, immigrated 1923, AL
Charlotte, daughter, 5, born Idaho, parents born Switzerland
Adelhert, daughter, 3 4/12, born Idaho, parents born Switzerland
Charles, son, 2 2/12, born Idadho, parents born Switzerland
(I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong about this, but I believe
that the PA and AL designations beside their immigration years indicate
that Charles was a Permanent Alien and Josephine was just listed as an
Alien. Being a Permanent Alien meant that Charles was intending to
become a naturalized citizen.)
The database, Idaho Marriages, 1842-1996 shows the following:
Charles Steiger and Marie Josephine Federer wed May 26, 1924 in Boise,
Ada County, Idaho.
The Social Security Index shows a death for Charles J. Stieger, born
January 20, 1928, died June 3, 2000. His last residence was in Boise,
Ada County, Idaho.
There's a transcription of the Idaho death index, covering the years
1911-1951, and it shows the following Stieger deaths:
Joseph Adolph Stieger, born March 6, 1939, died September 27, 1941 near
Boise, death certificate number 125799
Rose Stieger, born April 6, 1932, died April 14, 1936 in Boise, death
certificate number 098229
Unnamed Stieger (stillborn), born and died January 14, 1943, death
certificate number 133425
Hope that helps,
Cathy
