Not only have I called strangers in hopes they might be a connection,
I actually had my neighbor, who is Italian, call a person in Berceto,
Italy on my behalf and, guess what? We were not related but I
developed a great friendship with this person who, after about a year,
sent me a gift. It was certified copies of birth and baptism records
for my paternal grandparents. You never know what may happen! It's
always worth a shot and if the person you call is not related, you
have provided a great lunch room story for them!
