Subject: TOLMIE family Saratoga Springs, New York, Ontario and Quebec Canada
Looking for information on the family of my Great Great Grandfather, John A.
Tolmie, b. 1847 Glengary, Ontario, Canada Died apr 12, 1916 Saratoga Lake,
New York.

He married Georgiana Robbins b feb 1 1854, Albany, died after 1930 (Wing
family through her mother, Mary Thankful Wing)

Mary Edith Tolmie b. 1874 was my great grandmother..am looking for more
information on her husband, Frederick C. Swart who died 1910.  Wouldl like
to know how he died.  I have his obit but doesnt say.  His parents, I
believe were Wallace Swart,  and Emma unknown, who had 9 children.  Have no
furtner info on Wallace or Emma parents or ancestors.

William R Tolmie b.1881 married Lelia ?
Smith Wing Tolmie b 1892 m Pearl Bathrick
Isabel Tolmie b 1887 married George Comstock

Bertha Cameron Tolmie b jan 31 1889 in quebec is of great interest.  She
lived with sister Sarah Emma (also known as Sadie) in Jacksonville Florida,
b 1883 when Sadie married Hubert Campbell and they were proprietors of an
Alligator Farm there.  Hubert Campbell was also known as Alligator Joe and
supposedly had ridden with a western show, Wild Bill Hickock, earlier.

For some reason Bertha had moved to Florida - reason unknown, however, their
sister, Georgiana Tolmie b 1887 married a Frank Karrick who is absent from
her household a year after the marriage 1910 census, but she has a year old
son Ian E Karrick which the census identifies as adopted, b 1909

I believe Frank Karrick was a horse trainer in Saratoga, possibly from a
family of horsemen from kentucky.

John A Tolmie kept a roadhouse in Saratoga Lake, New York, which burned down
twice 10 years apart - I have found lots of NYGenweb and suspect there is
more to find there for those in New York...would like to know who his
parents, ancesters were, so if someone from Canada has anything that would
be great.  I have an old family scrapbook of newsclippings and some pictuers
in very bad condition that was Mary Edith Tolmie's, my great grandmother.

So, looking for what happened to Frank Karrick, (Bertha Tolmie (did she
marry in Florida?)
Have no death date for Sadie (Sarah) but she is buried in Jacksonville with
Hubert in Evergreen Cemetery there.
