l: COURT

On June 23,2006 people were summoned to appear for court at the N.
Routt Fire
Station #2 in  6l9l5 Routt   County Rd.l29, Hahn's Peak,Co 80428.

We were told we were there voluntarily however anyone who did not show
would be
issued a federal bench warrant. We arrived at 9 AM. The sun was soon
very hot.
There was no shelter, water was refused, a man in a wheel chair was
refused use
of a  handicap restroom facility. Later, after sundown, we were told we
could
not start a fire for warmth for pregnant women and children. Throughout
the day
3 persons were sent to the hospital, one in an ambulance 2 transported
by us.
Another was administered oxygen by rescue squad personnel. One child
passed out
from the heat. We were told to drink ditch water by officers. A
hypoglycemic man
nearly went into shock due to lack of food. We found candy and nuts in
the crowd
for him. We were at the Fire Station from 9AM till l0PM, l3 hours, till
finally
the last 20 or so were dismissed and permitted to leave. The folk who
were
transported to the hospital in Steamboat Springs, Colo. had to wait to
have
their "court date" changed before they le!
ft in order to avoid a Federal bench warrant. We were summoned with no
knowledge of the existence of these appalling conditions. These
conditions still
exist. Even the state and county health department officials that
showed could
not get our water jugs filled from the taps at the Fire Station. They
did
however go to their state campground down the road and bring back water
for us.
We later sent some one from our group to get more water from the state
campground day use area. She paid the $5.00 fee and was refused water.
This was
our first of many court days and no one knew we would be facing these
inhuman
condiions. We were unprepared and many suffered.

2: SHANTI SENA ESCORT LEOS OUT

On June 26,2006 the law enforcement officers of the US Forest Service
entered
the Rainbow Gathering Site in the Routt National Forest on Silver City
Creek in
Northwestern Colorado. My first contact with them was when I walked up
to the
officers and asked an officer,"What are you boys up to today?". I was
immediately issued a use and occupancy ticket and no reply to my
question
whatsoever. The officers continued on to "Kid Village" issued a ticket
to Felipe
Chavez and returned thru the camp. Along the way words were exchanged
between
the people and F.S. law. At a point near a Krishna Kitchen officers
were talking
to two folk. I was close enough to see what happened but not close
enough to
hear what was being said. Suddenly both people were thrown to the
ground and
beaten. A crowd formed around the situation. At this point another
person rushed
among the officers and was taken down and beaten and cuffed. A circle
formed
around the officers. People started demanding the release!
of the prisoner. The original 2 had already been released. The
circled people
began to chant,"OM". Shanti Sena placed themselves between the law
enforcement
LEOs and the people. The LEOs asked for a way out and the circle
relented tho
energy was still high. The LEOs were protected by Shanti Sena and
escorted out.
Along the way a rock was thrown by an unknown party that struck an
officer on
the leg. He was helped to his feet and walked with the rest of the LEOs
along
the path out which was opened by the Shanti Sena escort. They were
delivered to
their trucks. Some wanted the man who threw the rock but no one knew
who had
done it. It was suggested that the LEOs leave as a part of the crowd
was still
incensed about the beatings and arrest of one they considered their
own. The
Shanti Sena stood between the crowd and the LEOs and they were allowed
to leave
with their prisoner.
