Hiya Stephen!
There are a few folks here that don't use filters, so let's hope they can help
you out a bit more. We don't get wired because someone prefers one method to
antoher...we're just here to share and learn. Do you have plants in the pond?
How many fish? We may not like the green stuff....but the fish love it!
Welcome and please keep us posted! peace....debbie
Hi, Ingredient in this colorant is carbon black. I don't know where to
get it but it sounds cheap. I don't like colored ponds myself but if I
had to use it, the black is much better looking than the blue dyes.
hth - how
no NEWS is good - really
Well I wondered where she has been..last I heard her computor crashed. I like
Mura..why isn't she posting here? Is she still breeding shubunkins?
Jerri
I know, i miss her, too. I didn't know her computer crashed, what a bummer :-(.
I believe i read she went into the Ponding Biz, i bet that keeps her real
busy....maybe we should email her & beg her to stop by? ;-)
Laurie
that was months ago

Yes, lets do it............Jerri
I'll do it right now, you too! ;-)

I have not used any of this stuff but someone posted that they use the icing
color that you find in the cake department. (the kind in the bottle with the
white, screw on lid) It is very concentrated, so I don't think you would need
to use much.
Sandra
Thanks!

Hi Matt,
My pond is small (218 gals) and I don't use pumps and filters. I just have
lots of oxygenators and other plants. I have 3 shubunkins and 2 s. comets and
some babies(which I don't know yet what they are) There are also lots of
Japanese Black (trapdoor) snails. I think Jerri said maybe ya need 10 gals per
goldfish.

A number of folks don't use filters Matt and do quite well. Lots of plants
will be needed tho ;^) Good luck! peace....debbie

I weigh in with Sandra. I also have a smaller pond and don't have any filters
and the water's very clear. There is algae on the inside tho, the fuzzy good
kind. And like Debbie said, you'll need lots of plants. You want to cover the
pond surface to a good degree to cut down on sunlight filtering thru. I keep
the plants up and the fish load down, only two fish but 2 frogs and Lots of
tads, also some of the same snails as she has. Stay away from the apple snails
as they'll eat your plants, and don't forget to get all three kinds (?) of
plants. Have fun!! ;))
