Anyone else play on the Quel'Dorei Realm that is getting extremely
ticked off that it's the only realm down?? It went down at 8pm Eastern
last night and is still down. Really irritating...

I hope they at least let us know what and why it's close to 24hrs down
when they finally get it going again.

I guess this is a good reason as any to have toons spread over different
realms....

Well, I feel your pain. Whirlwind and Emberstorm battle groups were
down last night, 38 servers in total, and they went down again just
before Noon today. My server (Cenarius) is in the Whirlwind battle group.

I've got some more filthy Rogues I need to shoot with my turkey blaster!

You'd rather other realms were down too? To share the pain perhaps?

Korialstrasz and Azjol-Nerub were also down and I saw a message at
login saying Blizzard was doing hot fixes to address problem with some
of the servers. the servers were up this morning and I didn't see any
of the server downtimes you'd expect to see on Tuesdays.

Not at all -

Just that what could possibly knock a realm out for 24 hours? It came
on at about 8pm est last night and went back out with a whole slew of
others at midnight again while I was partied in a dungeon. I guess now
a good question is, where will I be when it comes back on? Still in
the instance all by myself - party disbanded? Just curious as it's
never happened to me...Good thing for ports, but we were almost done.

Oh well - do it again - lol

No, as my main is on Quel'dorei, I think the issue is more the Seattle
datacentre. For the particular problem last week, apparently it was
some power outage in Seattle . . . but when it came back up, what
could possibly keep one and only one server located out of Seattle
down for 30 hours (or whatever it was)?

Seattle seems to have a disproportionate amount of problems - things
from high latency to instances not found to the servers crashing all
the time. It's something like Seattle uses a different ISP than the
other three datacentres or something, which is clearly inferior, and
people from Seattle's two BGs have been calling for a change for a
while. So when something like QD being down for over a day happens,
it's that much more frustrating (not to mention, Seattle had just
crashed like 24 hours earlier, and all servers were down for hours),
because it seems like Blizzard knows that Seattle has a ton of
problems, and simply refuses to do anything about it. Or at least
that's the perception, anyway.
