Are scenarios considered low-end content?

I've recently added a daily scenario to my Valor Point grind routine.
My main, an ilvl 505 holy pally, uses his ilvl 469 ret off-spec for
this.

What bugs me is that even with this low gearing, and my inexperience
playing in this spec, he still equals or tops the dps charts. Last
night, I hit the Theramore one, and over the whole scenario did a bit
over 20k dps (he can double that in short bursts). But that still
equalled the other two players (mage and hunter) put together. In the
final boss encounter, he tanked in ret gear, healing himself while the
others slooowly wore the boss down with ranged attacks.

I know I'm way below serious DPS players (I'm boggled to see 100k+ dps
now).

My question is: Are scenarios extra attractive to low end players? I
realize they're fast queues, with no tank or healer required.

They're content that can be done in greens when newly-dinged, which
reward good valor, and a chance at items (mainly low end items), so
yep, I imagine they are pretty attractive to lowgeared players. My bf
and I could duo them fine in blues (with an alt on follow to get guild
challenges complete), so they're pretty easy for any gear level, not
surprised a lot of low geared people do them.

That being said, your 20k dps is about the average I see for lowgeared
folk, if the others were only doing that put together they were being
lazy I think! Unless my dps meter records wildly different figures to
yours (I know each different one comes up with different numbers but
not *that* far apart I thought), I'd say 10k or so is really rather
bad (I was doing that on my lvl 82 DK while questing recently...).
Heck, I was doing 20k in a healer spec (ok, Disc isn't bad for dps but
it still shouldn't compete with a dps spec) when newly dinged, so for
mage/hunter to be significantly worse than that seems wrong!

Yes, they are attractive for the potential gear as well as valors, esp
dps with fast ques. I still run scenarios on my main for valor....and
those other dps with you were, yes, probably fresh (or close to it)
90's. Any mage and hunter doing a combined 20K is either fresh, or out
to lunch.

The scenarios are, from my experience, still used by both geared and
fresh 90's, or those looking for OS gear. The fresh 90's are gearing,
the geared are getting an easy 50 valor. You can usually tell simply by
the dps meter. You get someone in doing 50-100K dps, they are in for
valors.

There are a few scenarios I *groan* when I get them - Theremore being
one of them. The other is one of the latter 5.1 patch "A little
Patience", where you have to run around collecting sticks, iron, etc.
They just are too long and repetitive, at least for the alliance. Then
there are others, that I really like. I like the Shadown-pan scenario,
which has a "Trial of the Champion" arena feel to it, as well as the
Crypt of the Forgotten Kings....

The shame for me seems to be that the ones I like are a rare treat, as
certain other scenarios come up all the time. It seems like the 5.1
scenarios have a higher probability to pop (at least for me).

I use Skada too so my general observations should tally up with what
you're seeing then. Your dps sounds fine for lowgeared/not familiar
with the spec, the mage and hunter on the other hand... they're low,
very low IMO :-P

You do way more than me lol. I've got a few 522 pieces from valor,
Nalak and Oondasta (been lucky tbh), and got 2-piece T15 (never had 4
of T14 as drops weren't happening, and preferred T15 2-piece bonues
when an upgrade came along). Don't think prices will come down in 5.3
but upgrades will be back, and cheaper: 250 for 4 ilvl, 500 for 8.
Seems very worthwhile on weapons and probably on my better 522 items
if I don't have items to buy first; once I have everything either 522
or raid finder set, when I'll upgrade a few, IF I gather than much
valor. Big if, as farming it isn't so easy for me since I'm done with
all daily factions, I really struggled with the 6k quest, as I burn
out if I farm raids or group content too hard, sigh. Ah well I'm at
500 ilvl and enjoying myself so I'm happy enough :-)

Agree with you on all those, although I still like A Little Patience,
probably because I've only done it twice (as Horde we didn't get it
till 5.2 I think). Not a fan of the Assault on Zan'Vess either, but I
love the arena one and the crypt is nice and fast too.

Yeah, it'll be interesting to see how random ones go when the four (I
think) more get added in 5.3, spoilt for choice!

My main currently has 6 ilvl 522 items on his main spec. I've stopped
buying more, since, as I said, I'm stockpiling Valor. When I get maxed
out, I'll start buying again. You can check him out: Vamoose at Misha-

Upgrades I'm not sure about, until I've filled every slot with the
best stuff I can buy. I'd *like* to start upgrading my ret off-spec,
but the main comes first. I'm now often the top healer in LFR raids,
but I want to get back in a real raid team.

I'm gathering more of the lower end tokens than I have a real use for.
I'm turning them in for Honor, and buying epic PvP gear. Not sure what
I'll use it for.

100k is actually low atm, my hunter has ilvl 508 and I'm doing 100k dps in
raids and I was the lowest dps in my 10 man group and lowest by far... the
others were doing around 130-150k dps and that's with all normal gear with
maybe 1-2 heroic items, I guess they are doing even more now since this was
2-3 weeks ago...
