The mage is now 71, priest 70. Mage is on my main account so benefits
from the BoA gear including the 10% XP shoulders. Mage is frost,
priest is dual spec'd but mostly quests as shadow now.
Last night the team went to their first instance together, Utgarde
Keep, and it went rather well. I went in as dps of course, don't think
I'd be able to heal and dps yet. I've been apprehensive about taking
them to an instance because my control over the team when things don't
go according to plan is not great. But as it turns out UK is a decent
instance to run like this. I have Q bound to a dps macro for each
character and mostly just spam this. My DPS for both was very close,
the mage slightly ahead of the priest, but both did what I think is a
respectable +- 680 dps. Could of course be better, but not bad for a
dual box team and mostly just spamming one button.
But I also realise, I need to read up on shadow priests rotation. I
tried, but all the advice seems to be for max level and for raids.
Does anyone have any advice for the rotation at my level (70 going to
be shortly 71), both for the trash and for bosses?
For instance, should I bother with SW:P on trash? If so, when do I
cast it, after shadow weaving is stacked to 5, or at the start? Do I
cast it on all mobs then start nuking the skull?
Out of curiosity, did people know/notice that you were dual-boxing? Or
is it something you keep to yourself unless/until asked?

At the start I told the group I was dual-boxing and said that if
anything went wrong or if my DPS wasn't sufficient let me know and I'd
leave.
Can you post your macro???
For my priest I have a few macros. I would like to make a couple more
for instances, one for trash and one for boss fights. This is the one
I primarily use while questing because stuff dies so fast, VT isn't
needed. /use 14 uses my 2nd trinket which is a sp on use trinket:
#showtooltip ShadowDPS
/console Sound_EnableSFX 0
/use 14
/console Sound_EnableSFX 1
/castsequence [nochanneling] reset=target mind blast, mind flay, mind
flay, mind blast, mind flay, mind flay
/script UIErrorsFrame:Clear()
In instances, I use a second macro, virtually the same, but before the
first mind blast I have vampiric touch. I manually cast SW:P on bosses
or trash when I feel like it.
The mage has a version which assists her focus, which is always set to
be the priest:
#showtooltip
/console Sound_EnableSFX 0
/use 14
/cast Icy Veins
/petattack
/script UIErrorsFrame:Clear()
/console Sound_EnableSFX 1
/assist Focus
/cast [target=focustarget,exists][] frostbolt
As you can see, only makes use of frostbolt, so very basic, but seems
to do the job.
Thanks. I am now running two accounts and not doing to bad. I like
the part where you can summon the other party or parties to your
location. no mage needed. So now blizz is going to screw mages.
I am running a hunter and a pally on the terakkor server or realm.
hunter is lvl 16 and the pally is now 6.
One thing is i never turn on the game sound anymore. Silent which is
the way i like it. I can talk on vent and listen to music when i'm
not on vent.
what is the best addon to use for dual boxing with different toons. I
just pretty much want my hunter to focus on me and attack my target
with auto shoot. Her pig jumps out and finishs them off real quick
I got the second account for my brother who's now living with me now.
But blizz wont let him be on Cenarius. Bummer as i got all the gold
and lvl 80 toons there.
Not good. I put in a ticket with them. I want my brothers account on
cenarius. no reason for him to play if he can't run with me.
That won't last past the 90 day RAF period. And allowing one friend to
summon another hardly screws anyone. I don't see that many mages (do
you mean warlocks?) going bankrupt because their summoning business
model is suddenly unprofitable.
